Getting away from the gym again this time, without his brother noticing him for sure was a top win! Although he wishes that he had a Ditto so that his Ditto can transform into himself so that way, the two won’t notice that he was missing however, this time they won’t be able to catch him not like what happened at Reversal Mountain. He is not even in the Unova region anymore but instead, he is in Hoenn! The best get away from his region but man did it take him some time to get there. Now of course he didn’t pick a random region for his get away. His trip to Reversal Mountain was a disaster, going there, meeting up with his brothers that meant bad luck then finding out that the mountain was closed without informing the travelers about it. That was a waste of his time and on top of it, having to deal with his trolling brother how annoying. He didn’t even have the time to catch new Pokemon or even train his Pokemon however; he should defiantly get a huge amount of training if he heads to Mt. Chimney!
This place must be heaven for fire type specialist after hearing a lot of rumors about it. He couldn’t wait to check it out but this time, he didn’t hear the rumors from the restaurant but instead from outside of Striaton City. That was the problem last time; he got the information about Reversal Mountain from costumers inside the restaurant. Of course his brother can easily take the information from then and then follow him like a stalker. Man his brothers are annoying as hell! Shaking his head with annoyance, Chili had made his way to Mt. Chimney while riding on his Arcanine. He had his hand gripping onto his Arcanine’s fur, trying to keep himself from falling off the fire type creature. If he fell off he’ll be falling all the way back down the mountain and man that wouldn’t be fun! That would be painful if he did that, returning home with bruises.
There was one place that he wanted to check out, the best place for training and that is Fiery Path. It’s supposed to be located on this mountain but the fire head trainer doesn’t know where it is. He jumped off his Arcanine once he got to a safe service for him to walk on as he glanced around the area he was in, wondering where the Fiery Path would be located. Even if he came for training, he can always do some sight seeing while he is at it however, he would rather do that afterword’s since it’ll be more like a relaxation from all the hard work. His Pansear had popped out from behind him, still annoyed by the fact he had left him behind when he took a trip to Reversal Mountain. The fire head had though he put Pansear back into his pokeball before he sneaked out but ended up leaving him instead. He got burned once he got home for it, which is for sure. The gym leader defiantly made sure he brought him this time and he managed to check twice before sneaking out.
Sighing, Chili had lifted up his left hand from his pocket as he began petting on his Arcanine head, smiling during the process. “Nice work bud, thank you. So it looks like we are here huh? Fiery Path should be around here somewhere. Once we find it, we’ll get a lot of training done so that we won’t make this trip such a waste like last time.”
The Fiery Path was indeed the ideal place to train fire-type Pokémon. The humid temperatures seemed to energize most fire-types, and lent strength to their attacks. It boosted their confidence, and it just seemed to make them feel so much better about themselves in general. It had that effect on Flannery, as well – perhaps she was part fire-type herself. The burning spirit of her soul was perfectly at home in this humid place…the sweat and grime was a small price to pay. So she often brought her Pokémon here to practice their fire-type moves: flames could never be hot enough, right?
Although there were some times, rare as they were, that one of her Pokémon could get…carried away. Times when they just couldn’t resist unleashing their full power, just to see the effect it would have. Fire types all shared a love of explosions, after all…especially explosions that they made as a result of their abilities. But who didn’t love explosions? You couldn’t blame them for that. But then, fire types caught up in the heat – ahaha, very funny – of the moment sometimes didn’t pay quite as much attention to where they were aiming. Sometimes, they might…neglect, shall we say, to face away from their trainer before they unleashed their attack. Maybe they’re just caught up in the excitement, or just want to make absolutely certain that their trainer sees just how amazing they are. But, for whatever the reason, it often had…explosive results. So yes, there were times like that.
Like now, for instance.
Flannery yelped as an intense blast of molten light shot past, missing her by a scant margin – she could swear she could smell her hair burning - to strike the wall behind her, the force of it actually melting the rock, leaving a molten, charred hole of not-inconsiderable depth. She blinked, turning around to stare at the hardening rock, flinching back as a large piece dropped to the reddish-brown soil beneath her feet, not quite believing what she was seeing. Her heart seemed to be trying to smash its way free of her chest to inspect the damage for itself, and her lungs had crawled back in on themselves, as if by making themselves as small as possible they could somehow avoid damage whilst the rest of her was fried to a crisp. Tentatively, she nudged the blackened stone delicately with her foot, and then let out a whoop of delight as her brain overrode her natural reaction to turn and run for her life. She turned back to face her Pokémon; Mag, her Magacargo, grinning from ear to ear.
“Niiiiiiiice work, Mag! That was pretty damn awesome! I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that in a battle!” she laughed for a moment, her Pokémon joining in, before her expression turned to one of chagrin, “So, how about, the next time I ask you to do it...you point-it-away-from-me!” she hissed, clouting her Pokémon over the head…which, of course, prompted an involuntary expulsion of flame, straight onto her jeans, which promptly caught alight. That was, perhaps, a slightly more frequent occurrence.
Yelps turned to shrieks as Flannery frantically put the fire out with her hands, slapping at it in some attempt to stop it from engulfing them…a fine thing it would be, if she had to walk home in her underwear…or less. Fortunately (for her and her Magcargo, who, being made of a substance not unlike molten fire, would have been of no help whatsoever in putting it out) she managed to get the flames under control in no short order, although her jeans – her last good pair! – were blackened, as were her hands. Oh, that was just great. Now she needed to buy new jeans! This was coming out of Mag’s hide, and her Pokémon clearly knew it, from the glare she gave her.
“Well, I think you’ve got Overheat down pat…now we just need to work on your aim. But we can do that later...with me behind a rock. Let’s head back and get something to eat! I think you’ve earned it…even if you do owe me a new pair of jeans.” Flannery’s eyes narrowed, but her smile broadened as she patted her Pokémon on the head – careful to keep to the side, and not stand in front of it – and exited the cave, Mag in tow.
All thoughts of food vanished, however, when she saw the trainer coming towards her, a large Pokémon at his side. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion as she saw the red-headed boy, then widened in surprise as she saw the Pokémon next to him. Surprise slowly gave way to delight as she recognized what it was, and delight gave way to excitement as her conscious mind caught up with her subconscious and recognized what it was. This happened in the space of less than three seconds, although the transition on her face was quite evident, and punctuated by her joyful shout, a moment later:
“OhmygoshWOW! An Arcanine!” Flannery seemed not to see its trainer at all as she dashed up to inspect the Pokémon. “Lithe, fast and so very very handsome! Oh, and look at your coat! So lustrous, so shiny, so pretty!” Flannery cooed, admiring it from every possible angle, darting around the Pokémon like a Yanma trying to decide where it ought to settle on a branch. “How are you teeth? Open up, lemme see!” she moved to stand in front of the dog, tempted to take its jaws in her hands and prise them apart, although in this instance her enthusiasm was tempered by caution: Pluto, her Houndoom, did not like having her check his teeth, and this Arcanine was a lot bigger than Pluto was. Regardless of the state of its teeth, they were going to be big enough to chomp her arm off.
Mag slithered up beside the trainer, giving him a look that spoke volumes in terms of apology. She’d probably notice the Pokémon’s trainer…eventually. Maybe. With Flannery, it was difficult to tell.
The gym leaders red eye scanned around the area of the mountain, searching for the Fiery Path. It’s his main chance of getting stronger, communicating more with his fire type Pokemon but maybe it’s not his fire type Pokemon that need the training, maybe it’s just himself? Shrugging his shoulders to get rid of his thoughts, the red hair leaned up against his Arcanine who decided to sit down on the surface instead it standing up on all four paws however, Chili’s thoughts has flashed pass him within seconds as a young adult female who looks to be around the same age as himself with red hair screamed with excitement about his Arcanine. This had surprised the gym leader to see a female version of himself, excited to see an Arcanine by his side. This must be her first time seeing an Arcanine if she is this excited or maybe she just enjoys fire type Pokemon. He thought but his thoughts seemed to have scattered away from his head as the red hair gym leader had lifted himself up from leaning on his Arcanine; his Pansear holding on to his dear life as the fire head moved out of the way before he got crushed into tiny pieces, allowing the excited woman to examine his Pokemon. He quickly got to his feet while his Pansear started panting heavily, grateful that it didn't fall off his trainer.
She must be a fire type expert if she seems to be interested in my Arcanine. The Fire head watched her with a curious look, wondering who this woman is or if she is trust worthy. She might be even from this region and knows her way around here, which means, she most likely knows where Fiery Path is! The only problem is, she seems more focused on his Arcanine at the moment and on top of it, she probably might not even trust him anywise. Matter a fact; she probably hasn’t even noticed him or his Pansear. If she seems to be a fire type specialist like himself then she would be tackling his Pansear by now but then again, his Pansear is small so you can barely see him compared to this giant creature. They probably don't have Arcanine's in the Hoenn region, which would probably explain why she is acting this way. One thing he enjoys about other fire type specialist, we all have something in common and that loves fire type Pokemon. We can easily have an exciting conversation about fire types and can easily understand each other since most of us go through the same thing. Perhaps talking to a female fire type specialist might help him boost up his confidence when it comes to fighting water type Pokemon or whatever that makes him feel down about his skills. They are probably going through the same thing or something similar to that nature.
His Arcanine on the other hand seemed confused as the giant dog Pokemon watched the trainer observe him. He gave his trainer an unsure look when she asked to show her its teeth but after getting a nod for an approval from his trainer, the Arcanine had opened it’s jaw to show her. Chili kept himself from wanting to laugh as he watched his Arcanine becoming confused as heck however; his Pansear had jumped down from his shoulder, walking over to the Pokemon that slithered beside him. Simi the Pansear had gave the Magcargo a friendly greeting. Now seeing a Magcargo is pretty rare for the gym leader since he doesn’t see those around the Unova region, matter a fact; this is his first time seeing one in person. So that's what they look like in person, interesting creatures I would say. I should probably catch one myself later on. I defiantly need to come here more often then. They probably have amazing fire type Pokemon here. She must be a fire type user if she has a Magcargo and loves his Arcanine.
He took a deep breath before turning his attention back over to Flannery before speaking. “My Arcanine isn’t use to someone else examining him besides myself but I’m sure he is grateful with the lovely comments you are giving to him. My name is Chili by the way, gym leader of Striaton City from the Unova region. My Pansear’s name is Simi while my Arcanine is Taiki. It’s nice to meet you.” During his introduction, both him and his Pansear had bowed at the same time. This tends to become a habit for the two of them since they work at the restaurant back in the Unova region. “You have a lovely Magcargo by the way. I never met one before since they are rare in the Unova region.” He complimented, trying his best to get a conversation going.
[style=background-color: #615655; width: 355px; padding: 5px; color: #cacaca; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10px;] To Flannery’s delight, the Arcanine complied, opening its mouth wide. In a move that would probably have looked insane to an observer, Flannery got as close as she possibly could to sticking her head in the Arcanine’s mouth without actually doing so, studying its teeth with the critical eye of someone who was more than passingly familiar with these things. The shape and structure were slightly different to that of her Houndoom’s, but the principal was the same…at least, she thought it was.
“Very nice indeed.” Flannery said, her tone turning momentarily serious, as she pursed her lips in thought. “Your breath doesn’t smell like a week old dead Magikarp, either. You, my gorgeous beauty, have been leading a very healthy lifestyle…although I bet I could still outrun you if I wanted to!” she grinned, giving the Pokémon a quick hug in thanks.
She was debating asking it for such a race when quite suddenly, the trainer – whose presence she had been sort of aware of, at least, somewhere in the back of her mind – spoke, drawing her attention. She took a step back in surprise when he saw him; he had a few things she didn’t, and vice versa, but otherwise they might have been siblings. “Whoah, talk about déjà vu.” Flannery said, giggling. The man – maybe he was her age, maybe a bit older? – introduced himself as Chili, a fire-type specialist, and her smile broadened. It was always nice to meet someone else who appreciated the passionate fury of fire types. She let out a squeal of delight when she saw his Pansear, tempted to sweep it into her arms. She tilted her head as he mentioned where he was from…where on earth was that? Unova? Was that, like, a continent, or maybe a part of another region or something? It had a region-ish sound to it.
“Striaton City? Never heard of it. But I don’t get out of Hoenn much. I get seasick and airsick, and I can’t swim across oceans…well, actually I’ve never tried to. Maybe I could…” Flannery’s face twisted into a frown as she considered it, her attention wandering from her unexpected companion. She wasn’t a strong swimmer, but she wasn’t exactly in danger of drowning every time she went into water deeper than she was tall, either. Just how far was it to Unova, anyway? If it wasn’t that far, she might be able to make it. She was about to ask, but for a nudge from Mag, reminding her of her manners.
“Oh, right, I need to introduce myself. Thanks, Mag. Ahem.” Flannery cleared her throat. “One with a fiery passion that burns! Our blazing hearts unite as one as we scorch a path through our opposition, seizing victory with our own hands! Lavaridge Gym Leader and fire-type specialist, Flannery Moore, at your service. Hey.” she gave an elaborate twirl and a bow a match for the one she had received from the other, spoiling the dramatic introduction somewhat by finishing with a cheeky wink. “Oh, and that’s Mag. She’s a sweetie, just don’t stand in front of her, or you end up like this.” she gestured to her blackened jeans in irritation before dismissing the matter with a casual wave of her hand.
“So, what brings you down to my neck of the woods, from…uh, wherever it was you said you were from.” Flannery laughed sheepishly, having forgotten in the heat of her introduction. That happened sometimes. Hopefully it wouldn’t bother him too much. Flannery had a tendency to forget the less important things in favour of the more important things…she never forgot the important things. She knew that for sure, because if it was important she wouldn’t have forgotten it. “Don’t think I’ve ever met anyone else from…thingy.”

This started to worry him a bit as the red hair female had put her head inside of his Arcanine mouth. The gym leader covered his eyes with his hand since he knows for sure that Taiki would accidently bite her head off but with luck, the fire dog creatures mouth didn’t even budge. The dog tried his best not to allow his jaw to chomp down on her head but soon enough, she took her head out of his mouth which had made Chili sighed for relief as he uncovered his eyes from his hand. If Taiki had chomped her head off then that wouldn’t look good on his side heck he’ll have to explain to one of the Rangers about this accident.
Chili kept himself from giggling when she mentioned déjà vu since she probably noticed that they look like. It’ll be interesting if he had a cousin outside of the Unova region. He only knows about his brothers and nothing about his cousins for some reason, actually that is strange. How come he doesn’t know anything about his other family members? Does he not have any cousins or something? This had made him tilt his head a bit as he thought about it, not even realizing that the female has been speaking the whole entire time. She never heard of Striaton City so she most likely never been to the Unova region before. “You should defiantly go there whenever you get the chance. I’m sure I can get around with a free meal from my restaurant that my brothers and I own.”
Oh wow so she is a fire type gym leader from the Hoenn region? He never met a female fire gym leader before so this is his first time actually. “Nice it’s a honor to meet another fire type gym leader. I never been to Lavaridge though but I might as well check it out while I’m here.” After hearing a warning about her Magcargo, this had made Chili laugh. “Simi burns me all the time since we are so much a like so he has a slight temper.” Pansear glared at him when he mentioned that and was just about to burn him with Flamethrower however, the fire monkey had blushed when Flannery had noticed him so instead of blowing flames on his trainer, he decided to jump into Flannerys arms, rubbing it’s head up against her. Chili rolled his eyes at his perverted Pansear but was grateful that he didn’t get burned at least. “I thought I should do some training in Fiery Path but I think I got myself lost.” He confessed. “This is my first time in the Hoenn region actually.”
