[atrb=valign, top] THIRTY-THREE MALE CHAMPION HETEROSEXUAL HIMSELF | [atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, border-left:1px solid #515151;] Christopher Aesop Wallace was very much a quiet and reserved child who grew up under the protective wings of maids and a butler, yet taught never to cry but to smile, never to hide his emotions but to wear his heart on his sleeve. His smile was one that he practiced in the mirror after his morning bath, and he never failed to bring laughter to the household with his natural charisma and charm. Unlike his peers of similar status - Christopher was born into a well-off family - he grew up without the company of pokémon, and it was only until he entered the tutelage of his master, Juan, that he was first exposed to them. His first pokémon was a luvdisc, and has long since died due to age. Christopher held no sort of remorse or sadness after it passed on -- because he had to smile, smile, smile. At the age of twelve, his smile was as naturally charming as one of his true ones could ever have been, and though no one saw through his act, it never eluded Master Juan who told him, during one of their piano lessons, that it was alright to cry and let it all out once in a while. Christopher didn't listen, didn't cry, even after the family business went to rot after a bad business deal and they - he - lost everything once the estate was sold, the servants sent away, and his parents buried after their suicide to escape debt. Even as a child, Christopher enjoyed writing and if it wasn't for Master Juan's encouragement to hone his skills at pokémon training and coordinating, he would have pursued a career as a writer. To bring him out of his shell, his master often brought him to social gatherings and events, most of them prolific due to him being a gym leader. It was then that Christopher met a young boy who immediately took a shine to him, and not wanting to reveal his identity as the presumed-dead son of the Wallace family, he introduced himself as 'Wallace Cesaire'. The boy proclaimed to the thirteen-year-old that from that day henceforth, they were best friends; 'Wallace' smiled, nodded, before excusing himself to return to Master Juan's company. Christopher spoke nothing of his encounter to his master. he was, however, surprised when he realized that the boy he met was heir to a large company headquartered in Rustboro. It explained why he was there -- and more importantly, drove Christopher from neutrality to hostility towards the boy whose name he had already forgotten. a part of Christopher wished the boy to have the same fate as he did, to experience what he had, but he chose to instead channel his stray emotions into diligence. His change once again did not escape the notice of Master Juan. Christopher worked hard alongside his new feebas, whom he deemed as ugly and unwanted as he was now. He assumed it a pokémon who would never become graceful and desired. Poetic by nature, Christopher described them both as fallen angels, never able to return to their original path after what happened to them in times past. (He later regretted his words when it blossomed into a beautiful milotic, and considers it to have betrayed his trust.) As time went on, Christopher chose to specialize in water pokémon despite his master not having forced it on him. he progressed slowly, but surely through the gyms of the Hoenn region, and took time off to train before challenging the elite four. His diligence and hard work paid off; they fell before him, and Christopher - now known as 'Wallace Cesaire' - entered the director's room to take the cape from the champion before him. The cape felt at home around his shoulders, and as he took his seat and residence in Evergrande, he felt that he had achieved success. The same boy from his past, now grown up and challenging the elite four, fell to him as well. Armed with a feebas and pokémon possessing no sort of brute force, he managed to defeat the boy elegantly and gracefully. Defeating him gave Christopher a sickening sort of glee. He was good, but he was better. Wallace was better. His name was etched into the hall of fame for successfully defending his title, and once he decided that he had had enough of the lifestyle, cashflow and authority of a champion, he returned to Master Juan's side to take his place as the Sootopolis gym leader. Wallace's cape was now in the boy's hands -- Christopher might have left his position as champion, but his childish glee remained. Wallace Cesaire, no longer a champion, but a gym leader, had a peaceful reign over Sootopolis. His relationship with a girl - who? he never had a knack for names - was most likely one-sided at best. Christopher was certain that he saw her no more than a companion, but he felt compelled to return her affection and attention, hollow as it might have been. It amused him to no end to think that the boy - Steven? names, names! - thought he had more than just a liking for the girl, and Christopher found the misunderstanding terribly thrilling. The years after flew past just as quickly as they approached, with him taking the side of Team Aqua just to spite the girl and the boy. From then on, Christopher was an actor playing the role of Wallace, a romantic at heart, a good friend, a nurturing tutor. But try as he might, he didn't - couldn't - cry when the boy died. Try as Christopher did, countless times, he was a hollow, emotionless man who craved and thrived on acceptance and praise. In his heart, he wanted to return to the life he felt he was cheated out of. He wanted to stand on equal footing with the boy who had managed to come back to life even after he had died. Most of all, he wanted Master Juan to accept him. Peace eventually returned to Hoenn as it was rebuilt by an unknown funder, and so did Wallace Cesaire to the throne of champion as the Omega Knight to regain what he had lost.
