Beautiful. Just beautiful. Quartz's eyes grew in the sight of the city. It was beautiful, it really was. Especially the dome where contests were held. He was absolutely ecstatic. There was practically nothing that could deter his excitement.
Well... unless something bad happened, he supposed. Still, he couldn't believe it. It was the place of his dreams... Hearthome City.
He nervously stepped toward the contest hall. Flow, his female drifloon, would be entered in the Smart competition. But first, Sync would go to the Cool competition. He was still a beginner and he knew it... but he really hoped it would go over how he wanted it to.
"Well then, I better enter." He mumbled while walking toward the desk. Instead of reaching it, though, he bumped into someone. He must have not been paying attention, but the only sound that came out of his mouth was a quiet "U-um?".

Azel huffed as he felt something bump against him, and he turned around to possibly berate what being it was that had done so. He was only ever here to watch the shows, never participate of course, dressing up and teaching his pokemon tricks didn't sound that appealing to him. Plus, how would he ever scout out which pokemon he would try to steal if he was too distracted with trying to win in the competition.
His mouth was already open, ready to utter some rude words to the offender which was the plan, until he saw that it was but a child who had done so. Still, there was irritation in his features, only shallowly masked with amusement. So young kids still traveled alone after all? Something he had yet to come across in his wide travels.
Instead of rude words, a smile was on his lips instead. "Ah, next time watch where you're going alright?" He said in the sweetest voice he could muster, fondly looking at the boy with red eyes. "Are you participating or watching by the way? I'm watching myself you see, I never had the knack for grace, and neither do any of my pokemon, but I can still appreciate the beauty they poses when they're up on that stage." He rambled on, reciting his lines.
Most of which were lies.
