The Snivy looked at his trainer, one of his paws poking Alexis and trying to gain his attention, the same as the Litwick floating not too far away from the pair. He didn't pay attention to the Pokemon however and instead stared at the map that he held with one hand, his eyebrows knitted together and then looked up, searching for something, anything that could tell him where he was. He had been travelling for days and still he hadn't encountered the Town he had set out for. At least he had trained his Pokemon some, they still looked strong, if not a little tired and he vowed to rest soon, although they could not complain. They hadn't been the one to walk all these miles like he had done.
A small smile tugged on his lips and then gazed at the two, they looked back before nodding their heads and he smiled wider, hoisting the backpack even higher and continued travelling forward. It seemed like a lost cause anyway to try and read the map and if he stumbled upon the town by accident, well that was all the better for him. He stretched his single arm, before digging something out of his pocket and offering it to the two Pokemon that accepted it with obvious glee. He smiled again and then checked his surroundings, he breathed in deeply and pushed his hair back from his face. He had been trying to grow it out, with little success right now, but soon it would change, he was pretty sure.
He only stopped when his surroundings slowly started to darken again and he signed to his Pokemon, Snivy started to gather a pile of wood while Alexis helped and when they had a small pile, the Litwick made sure to light it up. Alexis sat close to it, although making sure that he wouldn't burn himself and Snivy did the same, although stayed farther away than his Trainer in fear of getting burned. A grass Pokemon and fire didn't mix, after all.

The pitch black of the night really felt where he was the most at home, which was why he didn't bother to stop walking once night fell upon Pokearth. Most travelers would have stopped and went about resting until morning came again, but Zane wasn't most travelers in fact he wasn't even most people. Was he even really a person? Zane didn't know, he could have been at one point but honestly all he could remember was being a hollow shell.
He sighed as he let the 'feeling' of depression fade from his being and he looked up at the moon, it was his only source of light. That was until out of the corner of his eye he spotted the faint glow of a fire, and it caused him to lower his head. A frown forming on his face as he knew what that meant....people, or at least a single person. Sure he didn't have to talk to this person, but it was going to happen most people tended to want to interact with others when they came across them.
As he neared the flame he began to make out the shapes of a person and two Pokemon...he began to hope it wasn't the girl he had met in the Pokemon Center. His fears were tossed away when he actually reached the flame and saw that it was male with a Snivy and a Litwick...both Pokemon who called Unova home. Zane stopped walking and hovered above the boy and his two Pokemon. His arms crossed as he began to think. Where did this guy get two Unova Pokemon? Zane was lucky enough to have gotten his Snivy, but this guy had two Pokemon from somewhere so far away from Johto. "Hey kid...where did you get those Pokemon?" he asked, he clearly wasn't pleased with having to speak to the guy.

He would have been perfectly content without speaking to anyone else for a long time, mainly for the fact that he couldn't speak in the first place and that already complicated things. People usually tended to ask the most stupid things then and got annoyed when he didn't write fast enough, he could write fast, but never as quick as one could speak, unless if he wanted his writing to be unreadable and little more than a single line with some curves in it. The thought would have made him chuckle once, but it annoyed him more and more. It wasn't always easy to be a mute, the missing arm added trouble on it as well. Although he had survived until now, so he wasn't doing too badly.
The two Pokemon noticed the newcomer the quickest and also the quickest to react. The flame atop on the Litwick's head flared in its ominous color and the Snivy glared as only the grass snakes could do. The Trainer slowly looked up, pale hair parting slowly as he cast a gaze on the newcomer and raised his eyebrows. His mouth parting as if he wanted to say something, most likely a greeting, but of course he couldn't speak and his teeth clicked together once more. He knew how it must look, like he was struck with fear and couldn't speak anymore. He frowned even harder and shifted his position lightly so he was closer to his backpack.
And then the other spoke and he leaned over the backpack, huffing as his remaining arm searched for the notebook. He only could hope that the other wasn't thinking that he was rude. He was. But either way, the shifting seemed to have moved the notebook and it was harder to find than he predicted. He was sure after all that he had placed it on the top. His search had finally the desired result however and he balanced it on his knee and the protective cover from the tip was clenched between his teeth as he scribbled on the paper and then turned it to the other male to read. His eyebrows knitted together in annoyance.
It would read something like this 'I got Thanatos and Snivy as a gift.' The two Pokemon in question had backed off and hovered close to their Trainer, still casting wary glances in the other's direction 'And I am sure that I am older than you, so please do not call me 'kid'..' A light twitch of the lips that could've been a smile would've been given if he had been speaking. He knew that he didn't exactly look his age, he thought. It had been a while since he had looked into a mirror after all. His appearance didn't matter to him 'I have a name, Alexis, so use it.'

The guy at first didn't take notice of him, it was instead his Pokemon whose glares at no effect on him. In fact his eyes remained glued to the other white haired boy in front of him. It was at this time that he actually noticed him, and under the faint glow of the flames Zane took notice that the man had one arm. When his mouth parted open Zane expected for him to answer his question...he was mistaken.
Instead he began to fumble around inside of his backpacker for something, with his one arm. His eyes traveled to the arm that was missing, and his mind began to wonder just how it went missing. Maybe the guy was wanted man and he lost his arm in a fight with the law, or maybe a Pokemon bit it off. He didn't know and once the man found what he was looking for Zane stopped caring about it. He looked away from the arm and back at the boy who now had a notebook.
He waited as he watched the man write something down on the notebook and then show it to him. Normally someone might have found it rude that someone wasn't writing to them instead of speaking, but Zane wasn't most people and he was smart. He figured the man might not be able to speak, so instead of asking questions he simply replied like he normally would. "I see, and who gave them to you?" he asked.
The next thing to be written down made Zane chuckle lightly, it was an emotionless chuckle but a chuckle none the less. He...liked this guy he settled with him. "Well Alexis, I'm Zane." he said, as he locked eyes with the man. This might just be a rather interesting encounter. "I asked because I to have a Pokemon from Unova, a Snivy."
Some of the confusion that the other felt was noticed by Alexis and he would have apologized if he could. Although the other would understand why he kept his silence soon enough and unconsciously he tried to form words with his throat, only a wispy breath escaped his lungs and he gave up trying when he noticed it. He was briefly annoyed with himself, he knew that he couldn't, although sometimes it seemed that it worked and it sounded drawn out and not like words at all. He could practice, yet the fact that this was a stranger and not someone that he knew stopped him. In fact, he was so used to the notebook that it didn't always came to mind that he could try and use his voice.
Alexis felt the gaze on his arm, or the lack thereof, and his muscles in his shoulders and along his back clenched uncomfortably and he almost shot a glare in the other's direction to tell him and redirect his gaze somewhere else and especially to keep his silence about the subject. He expected the questions, only to blink startled for a moment when they did not arrive. He actually paused in the search for the notebook to consider that and then calmly continue like nothing had happened. He wouldn't have mind telling it if he knew the other male a lot better, but right now he savored the fact that he could keep silent about the subject.
The next question was quick and he huffed lightly under his breath, maybe a tad amused and he pulled the notebook back to him and wrote on it quickly once more 'Friends/family.' It would read, but he continued writing before he showed it 'Snivy was given as my starter, Thanatos I gained on my travels..' He didn't even know how exactly anymore, maybe he had traded the candle Pokemon for another he had captured once, or maybe he had just gained it. He knew that he had briefly called that person friend. It made his thoughts turn to how they would be, maybe he should look for them again. A light pause when he hovered the pen in the air and then he decided that writing it down was not needed.
His head dipped in something that could've been a greeting 'I presume it is only polite that I write that it is a pleasure to meet you.' He thought that it managed to convey his dry tone rather well. His gaze was caught by another pair and he stared back, blinking slowly, before one of his eyebrows rose in the air. His jaws nearly parting again to try out a waspy what, but of course he was stopped. His lips instead twitched into a faint smile 'I guess that you have gained it as a starter, too?' He wrote down.
