"And then there was Roxy! Oh my gosh big brother, that was terrible!" She was so glad he had found the time to hang out with her today. Sure it was Hugh. He'd do anything for her in a single heartbeat, and she knew that. But lately, neither of them had seem to have had the time to stop and talk to each other. Sure, most of the time when she wasn't home she was with Garett. That was always the case. But there was always this longing ache in her heart, and she knew why. Because Hugh wasn't around. But she was enjoying today, because here they were, with plenty of time to talk and chat. "She almost took out Kleo, and if it hadn't been for Kleo's quick feet we woulda been toast!...Kinda like this!~" She mentioned with a grin, holding up a piece of toast she had on her plate to show him. "You know...only less tasty and with no butter." Placing it back down, she took a moment to examine her plate. She still had tons of fresh scrambled eggs on it accompanying the toast, but she had been so excited about talking to Hugh she barely touched her meal. Thankfully it had only been brought out ten minutes ago. But most people who knew Kalula, knew when she was excited about one thing she forgot about everything else. "So you gotta tell me about some stuff that happened, don't you?~ I mean...we haven't seen each other a lot...you know...since you went away the first time, and then since I've been out on my journey, too..." Though she tried to hide it, her tone took on a bit of a sorry turn, but even then she couldn't help it. She missed everything about her brother, and she often cursed herself for not dragging him out like this to their favorite cafe in Asperita more often. LAIKA OF GS!

The teen found himself smiling slightly as his sister rambled on about her adventures while he'd been gone. For a rare moment in his anger-driven life, his crimson eyes were soft. He'd always had a soft spot for his 'baby' sister. Though she was far from such now, that spot still remained. The smile was visible, too, as he'd shifted enough for his collar to lower and show his full face.
A chuckle sounded as Kalula made her small joke, and the trainer cut into his Chansey-egg omlette decorated with Miltank meat and sliced Maractus. He waited until prompted to speak. "Sounds like you had quite an adventure while I was gone." He felt a flicker of guilt that he had been gone practically without a word, but now was time to resolve that...even though they'd pretty much stayed on the same page as one another since Hyu had come back. The time he was gone was still practically blank.
"Reminds me of my battle with Roxie...I took down her entire gym - and her - with a Magnemite. Smart choice for me because Steel-types are immune to Poison-types." He shoveled another couple bites of omlette into his mouth before continuig. "I guess...in a nutshell, I got through Victory Road with Mei and Kyouhei before I kind of told myself I wanted to be more prepared for the League before even thinking about taking them on."
He sighed and sat back for a minute.
"So, I went to Sinnoh. Specifically to their Coronet Mountains. I started at one end of them and, by foot, crossed the length of the mountains, inside and out, for the years I was gone. I was training myself and my pokemon, too, as well as raising a second team." He bit one side of his lip in hesitation before continuing. "Mei's probably told you by now that I was hurt when I came back, right? I got sprayed by an Arbok's Acid when I accidentally stepped on it's tail running down the mountain. I'd just learned about the Knights and stuff from a Hiker. He told me Aspertia had been affected so I started running home and wasn't watching where I was going."
The teen shrugged slightly. "It's all scarred up now and kinda unsightly but y'know, whatever, at least there's a story behind it, right?" His mouth lifted in a lopsided grin. For the most part he'd gotten over hiding the fact he'd been hurt - seeing as he wasn't anymore and he could move properly. The only thing he'd probably have an issue with was going shirtless around too many people. That, too, would pass in time.
"How many badges d'you have?"
Waiting on response, he returned to his omlette, finishing it off.

Kalula listened intently to her brother as he spoke of his adventures in Roxie's Gym. She had no idea why she hadn't thought of Magnemite, but of course, that was why she looked up to him so much. Hugh always seemed to know what he was doing when it came to stuff like this. She smiled. She was no doubt proud to be related to him. She continued listening, and nodded. "Right well that's important too. I do plan to face the elite four for ages!" She mentioned, remembering that they were all probably much tougher than she could dream to be. But she wanted to do what everyone else had. She wanted to face them sometime. But she still had so much to learn. "Y-Yeah, Mei-Mei told me about it..." It had stung a bit, that she hadn't heard about his injury from Hugh himself, but she supposed he hadn't wanted to worry her. Then again she had been keeping something from him herself. She looked down at her omlette, taking a few bites. "Yeah, but anyone who is worried about how the scar looks doesn't deserve to be your friend or even look at you." She mentioned in thought. "That's why I think Mei and Kyo-Kyo are friends worth keeping. Cause Mei helped you, didn't she? I mean, when you needed it most. And you and Kyo fight sometimes, but he's still around too, so I'm glad you've got them!~""Oh? I have Cheren's, Roxie's, and Burgh's! I have to face Elesa, soon enough..." she mentioned, taking a bite of her toast. "I don't know what kind of strategy to use for her, though. Maybe my Shieldon." She sat there for a few moments, thinking. "You know Hugh? I didn't wanna tell you when it happened, cause you were gone and well, you were so busy with your Journey, but I think now that we're talking it might be a good time, because I don't know what to do..." She mentioned, looking down at her dress. "I almost drowned at a public pool, and it took them a while to get me concious again. I've been thinking about it, and I haven't wanted to try and swim since then but, at some point, you have to travel on the water with your Pokemon right? Especially if the skies are bad for flying types...so what do you do if you need to surf? I'm scared of getting seperated from my Pokemon." She mentioned. If anyone could help her deal with this, it was probably Hugh. LAIKA OF GS!
