Berries and practically anything that has to do with them; Yay juices and shakes!
Pokepuffs. She knows special recipes using berries, can make them to snack on, and—What do you mean they're meant for Pokemon?
Playing and working with her Pokemon.
Shiny Pokemon. Who knew they came in other colors! They fascinate her to no end, so if you have one... She'll probably be giving it more attention than to you.
Listening to stories. Just because she doesn't get out much doesn't mean she's not a little curious about what other people's lives are like, now and then!
Being picked on because of her HIGHLY limited understanding of the Pokemon world. She doesn't understand too many of the typing strengths and weaknesses out there, and also doesn't know too much about Pokemon not local to where she lives. To this day, she still sometimes runs up to, then punches Dark Pokemon because of their supposed Fighting Type weakness. This is why her brother got her a Hawlucha. So she'd (eventually) stop doing that.
Battling with her Pokemon. She doesn't know how to command them and they seldom listen to her... Mostly out of confusion. All around, it is often an awkward experience, it makes her self-conscious, and she doesn't like making her Pokemon uncomfortable either.
Impatient, bossy, and fancily-dressed people. It takes time and tender loving care to grow berries, so it's annoying when some sheltered hotshot from the city tells her to “speed things up”. Sheltered... Said the kettle to the pot. Note the "and". She's a little inclined to assume you're the two former if you're fancily-dressed.
Whoever or whatever the heck stranded her. She barely remembers what happened. Whenever she tries, she starts shivering. She knows that she whited out from it, and for sure that she doesn't want to experience it again.
She can't swim, therefore she's afraid of drowning and deep bodies of water. She never flew or did much riding on Pokemon before, so she's hesitant towards Pokemon means of travel in general too. She'd probably scream a LOT if she rode or flew on a fast Pokemon.
She gets uncomfortable around Pokemon she's never seen before (like Pokemon not native to Kalos; she'll get used to them eventually though), big Pokemon (mostly because she almost never saw Pokemon much bigger than her before), and especially Ghost Pokemon with more... Frightening tall tales surrounding them. She believes them. She doesn't mess with them. How she's managing with her Honedge-now-Doublade, Levi, is a story and a half.
She wouldn't know what she'd be able to do without her loved ones to watch out for her. And she wouldn't know how else she'd contribute to the world without her berry trees, since she feels they're the only things that depend on her that she can take care of.
Find her way back to her berry orchard in Kalos.
Find out how, and why on earth did she end up many regions away from home.
Find her brother.
Have a berry orchard with all the berries of the world, especially the rarer ones her brother set out to find for her, like Starf and Lansat berries.
Ruth loves growing berries. While her brother went off to become a Pokemon Master, she stayed home to take care of the family orchard in Kalos, which is somewhere around Camphrier Town, and was happy with her humble life. No TV, no radio, not a care in the world. Just she and her berry trees. See, it's kinda nice to ignore the chaos that's been happening everywhere else, because as far as she's concerned, it'll eventually blow over.
Sometimes, her brother would send her new berries to grow, and even let her keep some of his Pokemon to help shoo away some of the wild ones and harvest the berries. To put it one way, she was like his PC. She was immensely proud of her brother, since he likely had many badges to be able to command such experienced Pokemon she never would be able to in battle. While her Pokemon are well-enough behaved to help and play with her, battles just don't seem to be their bag, so long as she's commanding them. Thankfully, the more experienced Pokemon have a better idea about what should go down.
Of course, inciting incidents happen, and somehow, someway, her life got flipped turned upside-down, and she was no longer in her safe, happy, and humble life, in the most literal sense. She doesn't know where she is. She doesn't even know how she ended up in this rain-swept field. She knows WHO she is, and the life she had, but between then and now... Who even knows how long she's been OUT. She has a dulling headache filled with mumbo-jumbo, like: up start left down right a b left right right democracy anarchy start left democracy up up up a up b start down right HAIL HELIX left anarchy start right left right asdfhysdjhg--goodness, THAT wasn't what she wanted to wake up from... It'd be easier to say she got hit really hard in the head along the way, but that doesn't explain how she--Ah, her Pokemon appear to have been thrashed, but they may have a stronger idea about what happened. Though first things first: Maybe with enough time and walking, she'll eventually find a Pokemon Center... Then a clue on where she is... And how to get home.
Wears glasses; Please don't remove them. She won't be able to see and it'll make her sad.
Nickname comes from occasions where people have difficulty pronouncing her surname.
Pokemon seem to know what Ruth should do way more than she does. If anything, they inform her how to be a trainer, especially the Pokemon given to her by her brother, due to their experience. Zivilyn the Hawlucha is the self-appointed leader of this rag-tag team. He makes up for Ruth's shortcomings as a trainer, enough for most to joke, or even assume, that maybe he was a trainer in a past life.
The only Pokemon she caught were Scatterbug now Vivillon, Flabebe now Florges, and Honedge now Doublade.
