Whispers in the night were easy enough to hear. You could generally tell what people were saying even when not privy to the information. Listening carefully enough could gain you varieties of knowledge. These were things that Platinum had learned all too well over the previous few weeks. The tenage heiress sat silently, perched upon a park bench with her eyes closed.
The darkness shrouded her, much to her pleasure, keeping her from easy notice from the people around her. For five nights she had made this post her home, the park behind her a meeting spot for a few of the grunt-level Knights.
She had learned their identities through careful observation, something she was most proud of. Platinum had listened intently until she had known for sure that she was listening correctly. Deciphering the conversations with their hushed voices, Platinum had used her apt mind to store the information away and keep it locked up so as to alert the other Pokedex Holders. She wanted to give them an insight into the minds of this collective of villains.
These few small frys (from what Platinum had learned) were not given a whole lot of trust or information. They were generally overheard talking about thieveries and possible kidnappings they were to be involved in, though most of their tales had been woeful renditions of their previous failures. But Platinum knew that even if they were minor members, they still meant something.
Fists tightened together as she shifted that slightest movement, before she went back to thinking,
Tonight had been different that the other nights. There had been a new voice. She had only spoken very briefly, but Platinum had noticed the respect and awe in the tones of the underlings when they had replied. This woman was clearly much higher up than the grunts had been. She was autorative and had given orders for the next storm locations.
Hearthome and Eterna cities. They were in Sinnoh - she and Diamond had been correct in assuming that Sinnoh was next on their list. But that meant that people could be in great danger. They were big cities, and they were under a lot of risk should the storms get out of hand. Now she was worried.
But she just had to wait for whomever of the resistance might join her - if a Knight didn't figure her out first.
Things were getting worse, that was a definite. With the recent events of 'Natural Disasters', if you really could call them that, Pearl was finding it harder to be sure that he and his friends would be safe anywhere. He'd left Twinleaf Town on one of his routine training sessions with his Master, Crasher Wake. Unfortunately enough during one of their training sessions, Floaroma Town had been attacked by one of the crazy storms. They had cut their session short in order for Crasher Wake to investigate and help out. Pearl had announced he was going to go as well, only to be told he should head home and check on his friends. He reluctantly agreed to return home, though Pearl knew it probably would've been better if he headed with him instead. Nonetheless, he promised he'd have a new Manzai routine to show him once all this craziness was settled and left to head back towards Twinleaf Town.
Getting home was the difficult part. It did take a long time from Pastoria City to Twinleaf Town, even while riding on a Pokemon's back. Luckily for Pearl he had his Pokemon to count on, though it wasn't the same as having Dia and the Little Miss with him. Pearl hadn't contacted either of the two lately, nor when he tried his signal always seemed fussy and not wanting to connect to any calls. He tried to distract himself most of the way with coming up with new comedic material to show Dia when he returned. It helped for most of the trip more or less, though he attempted to find some way of figuring out anything about these 'Knight' guys.
His travels had led him to a park, though he wasn't sure how he got here nor did he bother checking his map. Instincts and willpower! That's all he needed anyway... well at least that's what he told himself. He hadn't noticed it had gotten dark till he couldn't read what he was writing on his notebook anymore. He was half tempted to just use Saruhiko's flames as a light till he noticed something familiar. While the park itself wasn't that familiar to him, there still were a few people mulling around the park interior. One proper girl sitting on a park bench. Pearl almost thought he was sure he was seeing things. He didn't even remember what the last town he had passed through had been at this point. Well... no shame in calling her out then.
"Little Miss!? Is that you!?" He called out to the girl, though he honestly wasn't that far away from here besides five or so feet. Why she was out sitting on a park bench by herself was beyond him, it'd make more sense for her to be inside somewhere. It felt good to see her beyond all that though, if it really was Platinum.

She had been so still and so silent for so long, the sudden voice spilling into her conscious that was directed at her made Platinum blink almost blindly at her blonde friend for a few long moments before she made any sort of real notion that she recognised him. With his training he had been busy - really, she could hardly blame him as they had all been working respectively in their lives. Platinum herself had had quite a year, so she could never blame her friend for his absense.
But that did not mean she wasn't shocked when, in the coming darkness, she recognised him. A small smile, characteristic of her trained features, turned her lips upward as she nodded once, then realised the fact that it was dark and probably slightly difficult to see the small reaction. "I cannot say I was expecting to see you out here, Pearl." Her voice was soft but filled with the affection saved for the few she could call friends.
Startled enough that she did not seem to mind what the people in the park might be saying any longer, she straightened up in her seat and moved over slightly to give him room, should he choose to sit down. "It has been quite some time since I saw you.. I must admit, I am very relieved to see you well." Her eyes softened and her quite stiff position moved into one far more comfortable.
There were very few people who could bring her walls down n that way. "You are unharmed, are you not?" Better to check than assume, she thought. They could catch up when she knew for certain Pearl was okay. That was what she told herself. Because she had, without knowing how to express it, been quite worried.
Pearl almost thought he mistook her for someone else until she finally gave him some sort of response. Sheesh, maybe Dia's slowness was rubbing off on her too. To be fair, it was dark outside and Pearl was unsure if it really had been Platinum until she had given some sort of response. Nonetheless, Pearl greeted the response with a smile of his own, though his compared to hers was much broader.
"I can say the same to you. It's been awhile, huh? I don't think I'd picture you to be outside in the dark by yourself very often." He shrugged, "Though I can't say I'd want to run into you in a dark alley with eight gym badges." He noticed her slight movement on the bench to give him space to sit down. Almost all at once he realized how tired he was from walking nearly most of the day. While Torahiko could give him a ride he felt the need to give the other Pokemon a break every once in awhile. He gently sat down and let out a loud sigh of relief almost all at once while mumbling a quick 'Thanks'. He slumped his shoulders a little and sat up into a more comfortable sitting position to look towards her. The Platinum he knew hadn't seemed to change very much, her proper demeanor was the same as ever it seemed. He wasn't really surprised, though he was kind of expecting some sort of change after the amount of time they'd been apart.
He raised a brow at her question however.
"Unharmed? Yeah, 'course I'm unharmed. I may do some training, but nothing I can't handle. Master can sometimes be too rough, but its all in good practice." He laughed a little. "I can't say that I haven't been worried about you or Dia either..." He rubbed the back of his neck a little sheepishly. He knew he didn't have much to worry about with Platinum, but Dia on the other hand sometimes he wondered if he didn't worry enough. Either way, he was relieved to see that at least Platinum was doing fine and hadn't been near Floaroma Town during the storm incident there.
"So what're you even doing out here anyway? I figured you'd be making appointments or whatever it is heiresses do." He waved a hand around a little, but in all honesty he was curious.

Platinum was far more relaxed once Pearl had taken a seat beside her. If nothing else people were less likely to attack when they were in twos. And when there were two of them, people might recognise their faces that little bit more. "You make it sound as if I would attack a passerby for a battle, simply for locking eyes with me. How absurd." She let a soft but amused laugh spill from her lips, enough of an indication that she was comfortable, as she cast silvery eyes his way and examined him whilst he told his story.
Of course he would have been training with Crasher Wake. she should have assumed that from the beginning, but she truly had not thought about it until the very words had uttered from his lips. His lack of communication suddenly made sense, and her features softened slightly as she nodded along with his tale. "Diamond has been keeping me company often enough, and we have attempted to formulate semi-plans in regards to this diabolical group. Though I can say with full confidence that we have lacked your determination and your strength."
His willpower had, after all, been his greatest trait, and that was something they could use up against this new threat that bordered on psychotic.
"You will probably think it somewhat dangerous, and please do not scold me for it, but I have been listening for information from our enemies. I have had a great many things to do as an heiress, that is certain, but there is no greater need than that of my home. With the destruction of Johto, a great number of my family hotels were destroyed." She folded her hands on her knees as she glanced back out into the distance, focusing on the less traumatic aspects of the outcome from the losses. "I would hate to see the same occur here. Over some time I have noticed this can be a meeting place for members of the Knights, and I have been here in an attempt to overhear something that might be useful."
"It was supposed to be a compli-" Pearl paused in defending himself at sound of her laughter. He closed his mouth and formed a small smile. 'Though I really wouldn't have been surprised if other trainers did the same thing...' Pearl thought to himself on that matter, then again she could be scary if she wanted to be. He shook his head a little at that thought before he realized she spoke. He nodded to himself as she explained what she had been up to since he had spoken to her last, though he was somewhat relieved to hear that Dia and the Little Miss had been keeping contact between each other. There was a part of him that was nagging him for cutting off contact recently with the recent events happening between this group and tragedies between the regions as well. If something happened to them, or happened to him, while he'd been out of reach... Pearl internally shuddered at the thought. Enough thinking like that for now!
"I see..." He held his chin in his hand for a moment. It was mostly to himself, but Little Miss held the trait of 'knowledge' for a reason. He wasn't too surprised she had been able to come up with some sort of plan about these new bad guys. Pearl thought he probably should've taken action sooner, but then again locating these guys always seemed like a chore. Unlike the Galactic goons, that seemed to lack any will of their own and moved in a group, these guys were more like... well and actual team. Pearl might've been impressed, but for now he kept it to himself as Platinum continued.
While he did agree with her that it was dangerous for her to be doing that sort of thing by herself, he was impressed that she had. Still, if she was doing it by herself maybe it wasn't such a great idea if she got attacked in a swarm. Platinum was a strong trainer, but even strong trainers had their limits. The news of her Family's hotels being destroyed by that earthquake certainly shut him up for a long while. He felt bad for her, while she was responsible it was still a lot for one person. He'd have to hand it to her later. At the mention of the meeting place of the Knights, Pearl absently looked around. There were still a few people mulling about in the park, though it had thinned out considerably by now. He sure had gotten his answer.
"While I can't say its the safest thing to do by yourself... I'm impressed." Pearl admitted, "Nonetheless, good work! We'll surely have those guys on the ropes sooner or later! ...Ah, sorry about your family's hotels..." He hadn't even realized he had leaped off of the park bench until he had apologized to the girl. The blonde blinked before settling down again.
"Though you said 'attempt'. Did you manage to get anything useful?" Pearl asked, "I haven't heard much personally. The reason I came back mostly was that Master had to go check on Floaroma Town after there was word another storm hit there." He still didn't like to leave Master to help by himself, though surely he wasn't alone. The other Gym Leaders probably were there helping as well.

Platinum should probably have realised the off-handed comment had not been meant as an insult, but everything to her was topsy turvy. It was hard enough to get a read on her own emotions, let alone those of people around her. Why couldn't people be more blunt, it would make life so much easier, really. Giving him time to process the things she had told him, she allowed herself the time to relax slightly. It was easy to be around people she cared about, much easier than being around the other members of high society who wanted this and that from her, and opinions on drapes and upholstery.
Honestly, there were more important things in the world. If she had never met Diamond and Pearl in the first place, she would never have been able to see the things that mattered. Friendship and people. No matter how many dollars you had, you could not experience true happiness without a friend to call your own.
"Unsafe perhaps, but it was necessary. There is opportunities that must be taken and there was no one else to do the job. You and Diamond trained me well when I took the gym challenge, I am sure I could hold my own for long enough to find some assistance." She smiled back, faintly amused at the fact that he had been so excited he had leapt from the bench. She nodded at him, a happy-but-sad sort of distant look in her eyes.
"Things can be repaired. Sadly there is more to the story that has more unusual consequences. They are being rebuilt, as all of Johto is. I am happy to say that in my recent visits, they all appear to be in good progress."
This time there was no denying the sparkle in her eye as she glanced at her friend. Pearl had caught the attempt, but what he did not know was that she had gained more information than she would have thought possible. "The past few nights were unfortunately unhelpful, but it so happens that tonight I have managed to hear what might give us some kind of advantage over the enemy."
Her fingers curled into fists as she glanced up at him, nodding once.
Pearl frowned, but nodded in agreement at her words. She did have a point, besides any business involving this new group was dangerous. With what was available to them currently, it would be harder to track any info on them. Well, in theory anyway. Big crime gangs always seemed to have those that weren't that bright that could leak some info.
"That's true. I'm not doubting your abilities, promise." Pearl explained, rubbing the back of his neck a little while he settled himself back on the bench. He and Dia had done a pretty good job, he'd say, training her with what they had learned and picked up. Saurhiko had evolved along with Platinum's and Dia's starter Pokemon too, only proving that they'd done at least some of a good job. He did manage to notice her small look change, even more so when she mentioned the 'unusual consequences'.
"That's good things are getting repaired, but... What 'unusual consequences'? I wouldn't think it would be that strange considering the reasons." Pearl asked, looking at her curiously. What exactly were the consequences was beyond him. The unfortunate side of not being wealthy he guessed. Maybe it was mostly a money issue or something just overly complicated. Either way, Pearl didn't really feel it was wrong to ask. Besides, Platinum wasn't really one he could imagine lying about anything anymore. He leaned in curiously at her mentions of her info gathering.
"What?! C'mon, don't leave me hanging! What'd you hear!?" In truth he was curious, and a bit impatient to hear what she had to say. He'd leaned in just enough so he was inches away from her face, too caught up in his eagerness to know what she ahd to say.
Post by PLATINUM BERLITZ-SILPH on Nov 4, 2013 21:25:24 GMT 9.5
"It is silly, really." Platinum tried to explain plainly at the idea of the strange circumstances. How was she going to be nonchalant about the phsychotic man she had been forced to marry to save the family's fortune? She barely knew how to explain it to herself, let alone to another, so she decided that she ought just be blunt as she had with Diamond. "To save the company, I married the heir to the Silph Company. It was supposed to be a beneficial marriage for both parties, but there was some issues."
The abuse could stay out of the conversation, the mental anguish had been enough to live through once. "He is rumoured to have passed away in the destruction of the Silph building, though I know otherwise. Currently however, he is not living as himself. It is unusual and strange circumstances, but I am once more in charge of our fortune." Until her father found another suitable suitor, that was, but all of those things could wait until after the war had ended.
For now, there were more important things.
It was almost a cheeky glint that kept her from revealing the things she had learned to Pearl. She almost wanted to keep the suspense up, but she knew that she was not quite as good at others as playing those sorts of games. She was about to speak when she noticed his closeness and a flush spread across her face, eyes casting downwards. Sometimes, she remembered, Pearl could get very excited.
"As Diamond and I predicted, Sinnoh is their next target. Hearthome and Eterna Cities are both targets in an upcoming event. They are large, obviously, and under huge threat. We will have to evacuate them before hand, if we can. If the storms hit them, I worried how many casualties will occur. There has not been enough activity here, and I believe that our home region is their current home base, but to throw the scent, that will also be where they launch a very large attack."
Pearl froze. Well, that definitely was 'unusual'. Though it fell more along the lines of 'absurd' and 'outrageous'. He half-wondered what exactly Dia, no Diamond, had taken from her words. Maybe he'd bring it up later- Wait! Married?! The more he thought about it, the more the words seemed to weigh on him. It was kinda hard imagining the Little Miss married off to some guy he'd never even heard of before. As if suddenly crashing back into reality, he coughed.
"Ha ha, good one! I didn't think you were such a kidder..." Pearl laughed nervously though he paused, "...You're just messing with me right?" Platinum hadn't been devoid of all jokes, but if this one wasn't a joke it was hard to believe it to be true. He guessed rich people marrying for their fortunes wasn't so outlandish and out there, but for some reason he had a hard time convincing himself otherwise. He tried picturing her in some sort of wedding dress, but that just looked weird too. Besides, why hadn't Pearl been invited to a wedding like that? He would've guessed maybe an invite or something... Maybe it had gotten thrown away? Or maybe it just got lost in the mail?
The information about the 'rumored' death was interesting though. He guessed Platinum wasn't too devastated by the fact her 'husband', if it was true, was dead. He straightened himself from being so close to her at the sight of her flush, though he really hadn't noticed why she was in the first place, until it dawned on him. Ah, oops. Pearl didn't dwell on the 'husband' thing long until Platinum gave her new information about what she had uncovered that night. He listened to her eagerly, nodding to himself a little.
"Dang, those slimy guys. Did they happen to say when the storms were going to hit? Would be nice to have some sort of time window to aim for..." It never could be that easy though, "We should probably inform the Gym Leaders in the area as soon as possible then... maybe even our Senior Dex Holders too. While you, Dia and I are a great trio this might be too big for just us alone. Your hunch doesn't sound too far off." It was true that it seemed like of all the regions, Sinnoh was the one getting less attention on the storm front. If they weren't careful something terrible could happen in Sinnoh as well, maybe even another Lavaridge Town disaster. Pearl threw that thought away quickly.
Post by PLATINUM BERLITZ-SILPH on Nov 5, 2013 7:26:17 GMT 9.5
The laughter was confusing until she sensed the hesitation in it. He hoped she was trying to be funny. In some ways, Platinum wished it had all been a joke. "It would have been nice if it could be a joke. When he agreed it sounded like any other marriage for convenience but he decided he wanted to marry right away in a mrivate ceremony, and wanted me to keep it a secret from my friends. Our 'honeymoon' was a horrid trek up the mountain full of training and walking through the pain. It was an unhappy union, and I was not able to pull out of the contract in time." She shook her head, hair falling over her shoulders somewhat.
"It was not what I would have imagined my wedding to be, that is for certain."
She looked up at the sky to watch the stars twinkling in the distance, enjoying the view as it calmed her. Fernando had been such a painful experience in her life, and she had tried hard to make it work with him the way she had been told you were supposed to attempt to make marriages work, though it had never gone well. The bruises had been hidden beneath carefully pressed clothes and when he had been declared 'dead' she had not even truly felt safe from him.
But the fact that he was listed in such a manner meant that she could at least remarry or find some kind of a clause, should he ever come out publicly. She hoped, however, that with the destruction of Silph Co, he would not want to be a public figure again.
"We have a month or so, perhaps two. They have many forces they are required to assemble. Hopefully, as you say, we can organise the others. Our juniors too, have faced some great perils. I am certain that they would be equally eager to help us fight against this evil." It was somewhat funny how in tune their thoughts really were. She had said almost the exact same thing to Diamond, that they would require more than just their own power to protect their region.
"I have actually discussed this with Diamond too. We believe the same thing, that we ought to ask for help from those who have fought great evils before. I only hope that they will agree."
In some ways, Pearl's heart sank. Marriage seemed like a thing that happened when you were much much older than the two of them were, even at nineteen. The thought of being forced, well... sort of, to marry some creep was kind of unnerving. Though maybe it might've been better he hadn't gone to the reception of that wedding. He could already picture himself standing in at the vows yelling 'I object!'. If he'd guessed right, Dia'd be the one to pull him out of there too. Though on the other hand he could picture Dia copying him as well. Both best friends would agree they wanted the best for the Little Miss, and clearly marriage wasn't an option (at least if she wanted to get married to him it would've been fine). Listening to her describe the marriage just made him frown and cross his arms while leaning back into the bench. Sure, Platinum came off as at first arrogant, a poor tour guide, snooty-- well you get the point but he didn't really see that as a reason to treat her that poorly.
Maybe Pearl just had higher standards since he knew her better, or maybe not. Nonetheless he was glad that guy was gone for now or at least rumored to be gone. He sounded lousy. He looked for something to say to cheer her up at least a little. The mention of that guy seemed to bring her down in the dumps.
"I see... It's a shame Dia and I couldn't come to your wedding. He probably would've loved the food service. I'm sure you would've looked nice in a wedding dress." He smiled back at her before realizing what had come out of his mouth. He grew slightly flustered at that, focusing on fidgeting with his hands a little.
"I-I mean! You look good in any dress! Or wait I-" Pearl began before sighing, " Just- ignore that." He frowned to himself a little. Why he had gotten flustered kind of surprised him. Wasn't Dia the one with the crush? Mostly he didn't want to give her the wrong idea. Yeah. That was it.
"A-anyways," Pearl coughed into his hand once he regained his composure a little, "A month, huh? I'd say that be enough if we work fast. Considering how tense things are, word should get around fast. Ah, you did? Speaking of Dia, I should call him and tell him I've come up with some new material. It's been awhile since I've talked to him too..." His own signal lately had been wonky and every place with a phone seemed to be broken or out of order. He wondered if maybe it was because of the recent storms messing with signals, but Pearl wasn't sure. He missed Dia, and Platinum too, and hadn't seen his best friend in awhile anyway. While he hadn't come up with much, it was something for their Manzai's. While working on them recently was slow going with the two of them being busy or apart, it was slowly making some progress.
"Don't worry, Little Miss. I'm sure they'll help us. If not, we'll just have to convince them!" He pumped his fist up a little while smiling at her.

What Pearl didn't know was how unhappy Platinum had been from the set up of the marriage. It had been a move designed to minimalise any losses caused by the loss of the hotels in Johto and whilst it had saved the Berlitz name and fortune in the public eye, it had caused emotional losses to Platinum. She highly doubted that she would ever truly pass by the anguish of Fernando Silph, as hard as she had tried to do what was right by her family and her husband. "It was not what I would have called a happy occassion, nor was there catering or even a dress. It was.. not what I would have hoped my wedding might be." In a way it was both a mourning statement and a reassurance that Pearl and Diamond had not missed anything special to her.
They still shared almost all of her fondest memories, and she doubted that would change in any great hurry. Pearl's flustered attitude let another laugh spill from Platinum's lips and she let herself really feel the amusement in it. "Thank you for the compliment, Pearl. Perhaps I will be able to wear another dress at another time so that you can appreciate it in person." She patted his arm gently - not anything too touchy-feely, but enough to let him know that she was not at all trying to poke fun at him.
With more important things than balls and gowns to talk about, Platinum shifted on the bench so that she was turned more attentively towards her friend, knees touching his leg and her body perched somewhat tenderly on the edge of the wooden seat. "Your confidence is truly what we need to help us accomplish all the things we must. If we start right away I am certain that, like you say, we will be able to reach everyone we need to. And that they will agree, because, like us, they know that this world is important, and it is wonderful the way it is."
This time she nodded, flattening out her skirt gently and giving him a determined look. "And I expect that you and Diamond have a wonderful routine planned in celebration when we are victorious. Perhaps we can put on a show, and invite the other Pokedex Holders to attend so that they may see too."
There, that was a positive thing to work towards. A party, perhaps a grand gala in celebration. That would definitely give her the opportunity to wear a gown. And it would give Pearl and Dia a place to perform - and there was nothing Platinum liked more than to watch her friends Manzai.
He gave a sigh quietly to himself at the sound of he reassurance. Maybe the outdoors were getting to him by now, who knew? Either way the laughter from Platinum was welcomed by him. She seemed to cheer up a little at his fluster. Though when she mentioned the actual wedding, he was a little disappointed. Guess even rich folks had their... ways. Either way, Pearl was tempted to promise to the Little Miss that they'd have an even better wedding--well maybe not wedding--for her someday. However, that was a long way off from now. At least in Pearl's case.
"Heh, no problem." He smiled at her light pat on his arm. In any case, the conversation turned back to its serious tone easily. He blinked a little at the touch of her knees against his leg. She definitely seemed serious now at this point. Pearl leaned in towards her to give her his attention. He did have confidence in the other Dex Holders. Like he, Dia and Platinum, they had saved their own home regions before earning them their titles. With all of them working together, it would be a snap! At least that was the hope. Pearl had optimistic feelings about it, almost enough that he was ready to leap off the bench and run to the next region to get their juniors and seniors together. He managed to will himself to stay though.
"Well, I'm sure we'll need everyone's confidence at this point. I'd be happy to lend mine in any case! Just as you said, Little Miss. First, maybe we should divide up the work between us and Dia if we can get a hold of him. If we each contact at least one person and tell them to contact someone else, it'll be easier to set off a chain of contacted people." Pearl nodded to himself at his plan. It seemed almost fool-proof! The only problem would be if they couldn't get a hold of the others. He blinked at the mention of his Manzai routines with Dia. Oh right. They' need to come up with a routine for victory too!
"Not a bad idea! I'm sure we'd get them laughing their socks off like Miss Fantina and Miss Cynthia." Pearl snapped his fingers in agreement with the heiress. He had some new material to work with already, but he hadn't come up with much to his disappointment. Maybe some sort of showing would be sure to get out Dia and Pearl's reputation as comedians. While they were mostly underground in that aspect, surely it wouldn't hurt to perform for the other Pokedex Holders anyway. A great plan indeed!

Platinum was definitely ready to forget the whole business of being married. If her father hadn't been eager for her to remarry now that her previous failure of a husband had turned up 'dead' it was as good an opportunity as any to protect the company. But that was neither here nor there, and she would always consider herself lucky to know that she had any time to herself. That, and she could warn any suitors that her father attempted to pick for her and protect herself for a little while longer.
And now, well, now, she could just sit with him. Her friend whom had been sorely missed from her life for a few good months and was now within reaching distance. It was comforting and she gave him a warm smile. "That would truly start a chain. If we all try to contact a few, then ask the others to do the same, we could have an army within days. We do need one, so I suppose that is probably a good thing. But never-the-less, it is a good idea indeed!" She clapped her hands together and folded them on her knees, nodding a few times.
Platinum felt lighter following the conversation - like it's happening had been a blessing in disguise. For weeks she had been wondering about Pearl's location as well as all the possibilities, but everything seemed to be falling into place. The same night she came across some kind of information, she found her friend once more. That was a blessing, she was sure, from Arceus himself. A sign that they were on the right path. She had to free the poor Pokemon in order to continue onward, but that would come with the attack they had to plan.
"I am sure I will be able to contact Dia. He has not been far from home lately, and I have seen him often. I have a feeling he has been protecting me, the way you and he have done in the past. I am grateful for it, though I do not believe it necessary." Platinum smiled. The idea of Pearl and Diamond being able to work together on the mansai was something of a wonder to her. She always imagined them spending great deals of their life together, and perhaps with the fame of all of their seniors and juniors, they would be able to publicise them better.
She hoped that they at least would be able to spend their lives with the people and acts that they loved. "I am sure that they will all laugh just as much, if not more, than Miss Fantina and Miss Cynthia. You are wonderful at what you do. And if nothing else, I will be eternally pleased to be able to see another of your acts. I take it I am not allowed to be present during rehearsals however, so that I can properly enjoy your performance at its peak?"
[ don't worry about it at all, I figured. <3 take whatever time you need. ]
Pearl nodded slightly, more in thought than anything. Her praise let a grin escape from his lips. His plan was pretty good, yeah. The only side effect would be if they couldn't contact anyone. Pearl wasn't too eager to trust phone connections considering his own luck with it, but hey, it was worth a shot. Besides its not like carrier Pidgey was an efficient messenger anymore. Pearl leaned back into the bench a little. He seemed to relax a bit more in her company. Most of his recent exploits involved rigorous training regiments made by his Master and journeying back between the Fight Area to visit his Father and Twinleaf Town. While Pearl was energetic, he was starting to feel a bit worn down. However, speaking with Platinum again felt refreshing at least. With Dia with them, then it'd be peaches and cream from then on.
"Heh, thanks." Pearl rubbed the back of his neck a little sheepishly at her compliment, "Really? I didn't think he'd be out and about much lately. Then again, I guess I can't talk there. I'm sure he's just worried about you. Take it in stride I guess." 'Considering your whole marriage deal.' He kept the marriage comment in his thoughts. Pearl wondered if Dia had known about the marriage. Maybe he'd ask at another time, when she wasn't around. He wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason Dia was hanging around more. That, and other reasons. Her reassurance about their manzai performance made him smile a little. He was sorely missing performing, even though doing an act ten times in a row was a bit much.
"That's the plan at least," He shrugged a little, "Huh? I don't care if you watch us. You might have to ask Dia, but I don't really see a problem I guess. Unless you wanna be surprised. Critiques are a good thing." Pearl blinked at her before smiling a little. Hopefully he and Dia could come up with something even the Little Miss would enjoy. Though a part of him felt her proper demeanor in a crowd might put a freeze on her laughter, but he kept it to himself.
"Besides, we do better performing in front of people anyway. Or, er, Pokemon per say. We did a lot of practice with Saurhiko and Wig when they were still a Chimchar and Turtwig."

Luckily for most, Platinum had a lot of connections. And considering the energy she wanted to put into protecting her home and the people she cared about, she knew she could use them in the best way she knew how. Getting in touch with her contacts would not be entirely too difficult for her, it would just take a little work. She could do it, however, knowing that Diamond and Pearl were there to help her. "You two are always very concerned for me. It is appreciated. Sometimes I feel like you truly were destined to be my guards, regardless of who my father initially hired." The heiress praised, glad to be able to say she still had Diamond and Pearl involved in her life.
Though initially she was shocked by the revelation that there had been a mixup, Platinum could not say that she would ever change the way their journey had gone. She cared too deeply for her friends, and had grown to love them during their time together. It was days when she was alone, when their Pokedexs were not all united, that she felt like she was missing a part of herself, and even though years had passed since their great adventure, she still liked it when all three aligned and alerted them of their meeting.
"Then I will check with Diamond and gladly watch. I am sure I will enjoy it." Though her sense of humour was more subdued than most, the young heiress did enjoy watching her friends perform. Especially when she knew for certain that they were having fun. It was those moments that made her more pleased than the actual jokes. Sometimes, she hated to admit, the jokes did go over her head. It was their every day antics that tended to make her appreciate their senses of humour more. "Though perhaps I am not the best for critiquing. I can certainly tell when you are doing your best. Perhaps our Pokemon too will be able to help you deem which acts to include."
She brushed her hair back away from her face, resting her hands on her knees demurely. "I truly am glad to see you again, Pearl. It has not been so very long, I know, but it does give me so much relief that you are here and well. I did miss you while you were gone, and I am certain that Diamond did also. So much has happened and sometimes I feel like we will blink and miss everything that happens in each others lives, but I want to always be able to share the important things with you and Dia, especially now that the fiasco with my marriage has ended." She smiled more warmly then, nodding.
"I will attempt to find a way that we can communicate even when the phones are not doing what they ought. That will be my mission after we have been rid of these evils."
The blonde used to think the mix-up with Platinum's original bodyguards and he and Dia was a bad thing. Of course, after their adventures with her and the whole situation with Team Galactic changed his mind about her. Pearl still couldn't believe he thought she was a tour guide. Even Dia had managed to notice before him. Oh well, the past was in the past. He'd prefer Platinum over a snooty 'tour guide' anyway. He and Dia both cared about the Little Miss, that was true, even though by now she didn't need their help as much anymore. Pearl just felt that they weren't needed as much anymore in a 'protection' sense. Nonetheless, he and Dia did promise they'd take care of her even if that promise had been well fulfilled by now.
"Maybe it was destiny, who knows. We know you can take care of yourself, but we'll still be around to protect you. As corny as that sounds." Pearl shrugged a little. If he hadn't met Platinum, who knows where he'd be now. He sat up a little off the bench, starting to get a bit stiff. He'd been moving around so much recently he was surprised he was getting stiff from relaxing. Her mention of watching their manzai routine put another smile on his face. He was glad to get back to doing his comedy routine with Dia, and Platinum watching made him feel a little better about it too. He'd been wondering what Dia had been up to as well. 'Let's hope not anymore marriages.' He thought to himself.
"Sounds great! Any help is better than none," He chuckled, "Yeah, that's a good idea. We'll come up with some new stuff too. I have been trying to come up with something recently, though I've hit a dead end with it a lot recently." Pearl frowned to himself a little. He'd been losing his touch, which was weird. Maybe it was all the training and recent events that had sucked out his humor. Maybe he just needed to refresh himself by hanging out with his best friends again. He blinked as Platinum began speaking again, looking over at her curiously. He felt a little embarrassed by her speech, but happy at the same time. While odd, at least he didn't have to share the lonely feeling. He'd missed Platinum and Dia, especially their adventures and hoped maybe to go on another one. While the Knights were bad news, Pearl had almost thought it was exactly what would bring the three together again. Odd how the world worked.
"It's good to see you again too, Platinum. It'll be an even better reunion once we can see Dia again too. I missed you guys a lot too. Training is great and all, but our adventure together really was the best. I'm sure Dia would agree with me, but we'll always be there for you too. We'll just be more diligent about communication from now on." Pearl nodded, before pausing at her statement about phones. He couldn't help himself, but laugh a little at the thought.

"Destiny is a lovely way to describe our friendship. It does not at all sound 'corny' to me." Platinum said softly, thinking about the fact that without their chance meeting, everything even to that day would be different. It would have to have been destiny, and in some ways, she believed she would never feel real love the way she did with her closest friends. A person of her position was unlikely to fall in love the way some did, but at least with Pearl and Diamond, she felt the familiar flutter of adoration when they were around. If that wasn't some kind of destiny, the heiress didn't know quite what was.
Besides, she was from Sinnoh. They were the most likely to believe in those sorts of things. As learned and wise as she may be, and full of thought and practice, she could not help but have faith beneath those booksmarts. That was something she would never lose.
"You must need Diamond in order to come up with your greatest acts. It is a tragedy to have the pair of you separated. We will have to amend this at once." Though still formal, and hardly what anyone would call funny, there was a hint of amusement in Platinum's voice. She relaxed more comfortable on the chair, her ankles locking together delicately and her eyes closing with enjoyment. As much as she may have been joking about forcing them back together quickly, it still did seem legitimately strange thinking of Diamond without Pearl or vice versa. They were two halves of a very special whole.
"It was a wonderful adventure. There ought to be more of them, more opportunity to spend our lives exploring and living around one another. I hope that when I have the ability to control my own time at the company, I will be able to set aside enough time that we will be able to have a great number more adventures. I cannot imagine my life without you both beside me, showing me the things I have missed." Her warmth was clear this time, and she moved over to gently lean against his side. "You are both the most important people in my life. I will always attempt to move that little bit further to make certain we do not fall out of touch."
Sappy as it may be, and perhaps a little unusual, Platinum was too relieved to care about poise in that moment. She would soon have her friends with her. That was the most important thing.
Pearl ruffled his hair in sheepishness as Platinum agreed to his description. To be honest, it didn't sound any less 'corny' when she said it. There was some warmth to it that definitely made Pearl feel at ease. He hadn't expected to grow this close to Platinum, after all when they first met he thought she was just an uppity tour guide with no sense of direction. Some could say parts of that were true, maybe the direction part, but Platinum had opened up more in their time together. Maybe even Dia. Heck, maybe even himself. Pearl didn't regret it, and maybe he found himself believing more in the 'corny' ideal.
"Well, he is my funny man after all. Guess we'll just have to work on that later." He agreed, nodding his head, "Wait, amend? I didn't think you were that eager." He was excited to see Dia again too, though he couldn't help but wonder what that guy had been up to. Hopefully he'd been practicing his battle strategies like Pearl had asked him last time they had met up. He'd given his strategy notebook for a reason back when Dia was going to Lake Verity. It seemed like a long way off in the past now, but Dia had kept the book as far as Pearl knew. He'd admitted to taking a peak at it once or twice to see if that lazy guy had actually been keeping up. More or less it was coming together.
Platinum began talking again and Pearl couldn't help, but feel sentimental again. A lot had changed in the world by now. Platinum had gotten married, divorced too if you counted in that sense, was taking over her company and such. She really was in a different league than Pearl and Dia. He wasn't sure what Dia had been doing during this time, besides when they worked on manzai routines. He stiffened a little as she leaned against him, even though the gesture was light it surprised him a bit. Once she was finished, Pearl let her words sink in a little. It was a slight awkward pause, at least for Pearl. He wasn't sure how to answer her back, though the feelings definitely were the same and welcomed. Dia probably would feel the same too.
He then got an idea. They had been sitting around for awhile anyway, and Pearl was starting to feel restless. Especially with that silence. He got up from the bench they both sat on and lightly took her hands in his.
"C'mon, I'm getting stiff sitting around. How about you show me your battle moves? It's been awhile and I wanna see if you've improved." He grinned back at her.

"I just appreciate the friendship the pair of you share, and your comedy act is a true part of that friendship." A faint blush, very subtle, danced across her cheeks as Pearl sounded perplexed about her eagerness for the pair to be reunited. Platinum rarely said it but since she had developed her pompous more refined and focused attitude, she had been living vicariously through their friendship. Where people could explore and gush and be eager to meet, she had not been given the opportunity and she wished she had. The deepest and only real regret she had in being a member of high society was the pressure to be proper, and seeing her friends together, doing what they loved best, that was the only way she could feel like something was complete in her heart.
Thankfully, however, he did not dwell on the subject.
As his hands wrapped around her own, Platinum was suddenly on her feet and found herself smiling. She had forgotten how much of a whirlwind of energy Pearl could be and his warmth and excitement wrapped around her and guided her along. Her expression softened to one of adoration and she nodded. "Of course I have improved, I have had a great number of tips from Miss Cynthia and my good friend Steven. I do believe that even with the gifts your father bestowed you with, I will be quite the challenge for you."
Pearl was whimsical. He was a radiance she forgot at times, and his acting on instinct and what he felt at the time was definitely something she appreciated. Her hand squeezed his gently, before releasing him and taking a few steps backward. Delicately, Platinum slipped her hand into her bag and let her fingers trace over the collection of Pokeballs that rested within. Which would be the best for this role, she wondered. "What rules are we playing by, Pearl?" She prompted, attempting to decide her course of action. It was his idea, he could decide the battle style. She would respond in kind.
He was glad to leave the sentimental tone in their conversation for a Pokemon battle. It definitely had been awhile since he had seen Platinum let alone her Pokemon too. He would admit to missing training her back with Dia for the Gyms. She seemed to agree at his proposition of a battle, which was slightly comforting to him. He was better at battles than probably talking. He only had so much patience for it anyway. Pearl was a bit surprised, it showing on his features, that she had even got battle tips from Miss Cynthia and some other guy. Then again he shouldn't be surprised, the little miss probably hung out with people who were wealthy and it always seemed those types of people made friends with each other. He was almost jealous of them. Almost.
"Really? That just gives me more reason not to go easy on you then. I haven't been slacking off either y'know!" There was a broad smile on his features now. He definitely was excited to be fighting Platinum in a battle. The last one he'd really done was simply training with Crasher Wake and his Father. Nothing really serious. While this was a friendly battle, Pearl couldn't help but take it seriously. He blinked at the squeeze before she let go of his hands. He hadn't realized they'd been... he shook his head a little and took a few steps backwards opposite from her. Platinum was definitely a force to be reckoned with, especially since she held the record for collecting six badges in twenty-five days.
"Ah, right. How about..." He paused to think briefly as his hands wandered his belt, "Single, 3 on 3, with no time limit? I think we can kill some time unless you've got to be back home soon?" Pearl finally decided on a Pokeball and tossed it out in front of him. With a burst of light the Pokemon he chose appeared. The Buizel crouched on all fours, its twin tails twirling in eagerness.

"I would never believe you to rest, especially when training under Mr. Wake," Platinum replied smoothly, amused with the idea of battling in the dusk. "I would instead hope that you are training, so that perhaps my victory is not too easy." This time there was clearly a teasing tone to her voice and she watched him carefully as her own mind ran through her options.
With the announcement of the rules, she nodded her affirmation and plucked three Pokeballs from her bag, then put it on the ground and stood tall. "I have recently bought my own apartment. I have no real hurry to be home." Platinum quipped as she watched the Buizel fly out in front of her. She half-considered swapping her choice to her Empoleon to have a sort-of-rematch as she had against Crasher Wake (though his had been a Floatzel) but her choice was already made and she flung her own Pokeball out, the Froslass she had received from Candice appearing with it's own glimmering light.
"Not at all, it was your idea. Froslass, Hail. I hope you do not mind the cold, Pearl." She grinned, tightening her scarf around her neck for the inevitable chill that came with the Pokemon's ability to make it hail.
"I'm glad you have faith in me there. Master's no light weigh when it comes to training." He laughed at her reply. Crasher Wake usually seemed pretty happy-go-lucky, he could be scary when he wants to be. Training wasn't exactly easy, but if it had been Pearl would've been surprised. Her teasing tone only made him excited to start the match. He watched as she chose her three Pokemon, his own curiosity to know which Pokemon she selected getting to him. Zelhiko watched the female trainer as she sent out her own Pokemon, Froslass.
Being a Ghost Ice type, it definitely wasn't going to be easy on Zelhiko. The challenge was welcomed though. At her command, the battlefield was engulfed in a mini-hailstorm. While it was only secluded to the battlefield, it was pretty intense. It showed just how strong the Froslass and it's trainer were. Pearl smirked before copying her by tightening his own muffler around his neck. He was too exhilarated to mind the cold now.
"Apartment, huh? I'd figured you'd just live at your dad's mansion. I think you probably should be worried about yourself than me. Zelhiko, use Pursuit!" He instructed his Pokemon after returning her reply. The weasel-like Pokemon suffered some damage from the oncoming Hail, but nothing too threatening since he had come fresh out. The Water type darted forward, raising its paw to slash at the Ice Ghost type once it closed in.

"I did until recently. I had the need to have my own space." That could be a conversation for another time, however, as their battle had commenced and Platinum was not going to let her mind wander when she had a battle to concentrate on. The hit from the Buizel was a firm one and she knew that being a ghost type, Froslass struggled with dark type attacks. With a quick calculation, she let a smile spring up on her lips. "Destiny Bond." She uttered, watching the ice-ghost begin to weave her way towards the other Pokemon. That meant, even if she was to suffer a loss, they would both be reduced to one Pokemon.
Her posture changed and she thought for a few moments, "Then use blizzard," The fact that it would up the power of ice-type moves and increase the accuracy was not missed on the heiress, but the Froslass was working hard to cook up a rather nasty snowstorm, taking her time. With Snow Cloak, she was both harder to hit and with better accuracy in weather such as this, so she wanted to use her power to the fullest extent.
With Zelhiko's attack landing a clean hit, the weasel Pokemon stepped back a few paces from the Ice Ghost type. However it was not safe from the Destiny Bond attack that Froslass had unleashed. That definitely wasn't good. It would even the odds to an extent if he managed to take out her first pokemon. Pearl began to try to come up with some sort of counter measure for that. It was definitely a smart move on Platinum's part, not that he doubted her battling smarts. With it still hailing, Zelhiko took additional damage from the weather. While it was hurting Zelhiko, it was helping the Froslass' accuracy.
"Use Agility while they're working on that Blizzard!" Pearl commanded out to his Pokemon. The Buizel side stepped quickly, circling it's opponent. With Froslass' additional accuracy the Blizzard was most likely to hit Zelhiko while the Water type was less likely to hit the Ice Ghost type. Smart, indeed.
"Now use Aqua Jet!" Aqua Jet was at least a first turn move. At least he could attempt to do some damage before the snowstorm was released since it was taking it's time to cook up a mean one. Zelhiko engulfed its body with a torrent of water, shaking its body before darting towards the Froslass. It jumped upward in attempt at an aerial attack, though it's course could be easily dodged by a floating Pokemon like Froslass.
Post by PLATINUM BERLITZ-SILPH on Dec 17, 2013 10:47:41 GMT 9.5
Though perhaps the attack could have been easily dodged, Platinum let her Froslass bide her time and the Aqua Jet hit her quite hard. The ice lady Pokemon flinched back, but used her increased closeness and accuracy to finally unleash the Blizzard she had been cooking, clearly looking damaged but working hard none-the-less to give some actual damage to the water-type whom, up until then, had merely sustained circumstantial damage from the hail that fell around their battlefield.
"Now, Froslass!" She shouted, and the Pokemon whipped up the ice into a raging storm, attempting to hit poor Zelhiko with the brunt of the attack. "Then create an Ominous Wind!" Platinum was a little out of practice since she had won the record of six badges in a short amount of time (and had then gone on to complete the other two) but that didn't mean she wasn't still an able battler when she put her mind to it. A smile was plain on her features, and she barely noticed the chill of the wind around her as she commanded her Pokemon in the field. "Attempt to dodge him if you can, be strong, Froslass!"
Platinum was keen to win, but against one of her friends she wouldn't be as put out about losing as if it was to someone she did not know well.
Luck would have it that the Aqua Jet attack hit, the Buizel bouncing off its target once it landed. The downside to the physical attack was the closeness in range, especially for the dangerous Blizzard attack that the Froslass had been charging up until that point. With the hail making additional damage on Zelhiko, it was going to hurt. The weasel Pokemon was helpless to defend itself from the Blizzard. Being a Water type helped half the damage of the attack, but Zelhiko wasn't an evolved Pokemon like Froslass was. That definitely was a disadvantage in that sense. The Pokemon got the brunt of the Ice attack, sending it slamming into the ground.
Fortunately for Pearl, the Buizel managed to recover from the attack, though with the additional hail damage left him severely weakened. "Hang in there, Zelhiko!" Pearl encouraged his weakened Pokemon. The Pokemon's stubbornness seemed to help, but Platinum had already called out her next move. They were in a tricky spot now, but he wasn't about to give up yet.
"Pursuit again!" Pearl commanded. Most of Zelhiko's water attacks probably wouldn't do too much damage to Froslass, though it had been weakened some. The Ominous Wind attack was keeping Zelhiko at bay, but the weasel Pokemon attempted to hold on while being pounded by the dual hail and ghost attack. Once close, he tried to do another jump attack while lurching his paw forward onto the Ice Ghost type.
Post by PLATINUM BERLITZ-SILPH on Dec 21, 2013 14:50:36 GMT 9.5
Unfortunately for Platinum, Pursuit was a fast attack and she couldn't even withdraw Froslass to save her from the supereffective move. With a slight intake of breath, the Pokemon collided in mid-air and she was thankful for the destiny bond that she had strung previously. Watching her Pokemon fall to the ground unable to battle, she instantly pulled her Pokeball free and readied herself to release her next in line. "Great work, Froslass. That was very close considering the super effective moves. Next time we will remember." She chimed, slipping the ball back into her bag and tossing the other forward.
The next in line was one unaffected by the hail due to it's own inner heat. Though it would begin to die down fairly soon, the Rapidash danced around the battlefield, preparing himself for battle as his hooves made pleasant noises on the cement below. "Forgive me for choosing first in round two, Pearl. I believe that first round was your win, as it was your attack that caused the fainting." She smiled warmly, though more determined than ever to win the second round.
{I'm sorry again for how long this took. My husband surprised me by coming home early so we've been getting stuff ready having to add him to Christmas. xP}
[[ No problem dude, it's a busy time for everyone. uvu/ ]]
With the Buizel's final attack, it seemed to do the trick and knock out the Ice Lady. However, the victory was not to last very long. The Destiny Bond that the Froslass had initiated earlier, Zelhiko followed suit and fell to the ground unconscious. That knocked both them down to two Pokemon for each of them. Pearl quickly retrieved his Pokeball to return his Pokemon back inside. "Thanks Zelhiko you worked really hard." Pearl spoke to his Pokeball. He returned it to his belt as Platinum released a Pokemon that he was very familiar with; her Rapidash. He remembered when it had just been a Ponyta back when they first met, which made him smile a little.
At her words he was still deciding on which of his Pokemon to send out. The Hail was still in effect, but any Pokemon that he had on hand wouldn't be very effective against her Rapidash. "I don't mind taking turns. Your Destiny Knot had managed to take my Pokemon down with yours." He had to admit it was a pretty smart move. With his words he tossed out his second choice, his Tauros. The bull Pokemon stomped on the field tossing its head wildly in challenge. The Pokemon seemed highly eager to battle the Rapidash, though the Normal type wasn't safe from the still oncoming Hail.
"I'll just move first then. Tauhiko, Zen Headbutt!" Pearl pointed towards the flaming horse, in which his Pokemon replied with a bellow. Tauhiko tossed its head a few times more before charging directly, and more so blindly, straight towards the Fire Type.
