Socialising had never been Platinum's strongest aspect. When it came to fraterinising with people she found she could hold a conversation with people she had known since childhood and those in high society without too much trouble, but she rarely made friends outside of those she already knew. Diamond and Pearl had been accidental friendships themselves, after all. And she was much too wrapped up in her own books to really venture out very often. So Diamond's question made her smile and shake her head. He probably knew her response before she gave it, really, but at least she could grace him with one. "No, I have merely read about them. I think I would like to meet the other Pokedex Holders of the Unova region though, I believe they would be very inspirational. After all, they managed to uncover an evil organisation acting as a Pokemon welfare group. It is quite the story."
Leaning against the railing and letting the space between them form once more, the young miss turned her eyes back up to her friend with a serene sort of calmness, almost forgetting her troubles at his hurried words. Almost teasingly, she gave him a smile. "I think you might even enjoy the trip if it were only the two of us, Dia." She nodded, raising an eyebrow ever so slightly. "The ice cream must be good then, if you would not mind Pearl being absent. You must not want to share it with him either, is that the reason?"
Platinum rarely teased, but the hurried way he had added their friend's name - and the faint colouring on his cheeks - made her smile. It reminded her of timnes gone past and it was relaxing. "I would give everything to go on an adventure with you and Pearl again. With all of these disasters in the world, I wish I could just spend time with my friends. I miss you both terribly when we are apart. It does seem like perhaps we have all been too busy for each other.." She mused, wondering briefly if there was any way to change that.
This time Dia couldn't catch himself in time, and an embarrassed blush rose unbidden on his cheeks without him managing to tone it down. He flailed for a bit as his hands let go of his hat by accident, and the red hat was almost blown by the wind towards the lake. Luckily, he managed to snatch it in time. "O-oh, no! I didn't mean that I don't want Pearl there. He's my best friend! I just... well..." He took a deep breath and calmed himself down, and returned back to his normal speaking tone and pace. "Well, ever since we were kids, Pearl and I would enjoy eating ice cream together. I don't have that kind of experience and special memory with you yet, Miss Platinum, so I guess that's why I really want you to go."
He gave a little melancholic smile. "To be honest, Miss Platinum, I... actually feel the same way you do. Sure, it's been fun travelling with my Pokemon... but having you and Pearl with me was a different kind of fun. If I was still a kid, I would definitely wish that the both of you went with me to Unova. But being nearly an adult now, I know we all have responsibilities. You, especially, Miss Platinum." He kept his gaze on the lake. "But it doesn't stop me from wishing the three of us could go for another adventure someday."

Platinum had to smile at her friend as he blushed more visibly. The hue of his cheeks gave her a moment to enjoy the fact that he was so embarrassed. It was rare that she got the chance to see him flailing as sweetly as he was there, and she watched him catch his hat with a soft chuckle. "Be careful with your hat, you do not want to lose it, Dia," She smiled, nudging his side with her own as she moved back to her relaxed pose against the the railing. She listened to his explanation with a faint smile and then it was the young heiress' turn to go a soft shade of pink. She turned her eyes to face him, still leaning. "It would be a nice experience to share with you. It would be a special memory indeed. I would love to make such a memory with you, Dia. I would definitely enjoy a trip with you to make such a memory."
Pensively thinking about it, she turned back to the ocean and watched the ripples. It would be nice to travel with someone who cared about her the way Dia and Pearl did. It was more likely to get the chance to travel with one than both, even if she longed for the time when they would be the Sinnoh Three once more. Her heart yearned for their company and she reached out to cover his hand with her own, a soft and warm movement. "Perhaps I have dedicated too much time to the thoughts of adulthood. I do not want to be too busy for my friends, I do not want to find that over time we have stopped caring. You and Pearl both are the most important people in my life, Dia, and I think that perhaps we have somewhat taken our gifts for granted lately. I think we ought to make the time to go on a journey together, to be able to spend time the three of us, the way we had promised to at the end of our adventure... I long for the days where I could watch both you and Pearl performing your comedy acts, you were very funny."
She turned her gaze down to their hands and looked at her other, dreaming that their louder, blond third counterpart might come and take it, so that they would once more be complete. It wasn't right without him, and it wasn't right that they had spent so much time as "adults". There was business, but there was always a need for friendship too. They would not have overcome all they had without one another, so she had to think that perhaps this was as good an opportunity as any to reignite those bonds.
Now more visibly relaxed from his earlier embarrassing episode, Dia inhaled and exhaled the fresh lake breeze. He himself was happy that Platinum found the idea of eating ice cream with him a special experience that she wanted to try out too. He saw her light blush, but didn't think too deep on it, and justified it as her just being so flushed from happiness. And that was a good thing. Platinum deserved to be happy.
Although... It was his turn to blush again, once Platinum took his hand in hers. It was comforting, and warmed Dia's heart more than he admitted. Platinum's hand was soft and smooth, devoid of calluses and scratches. It spoke of her rich and labour-free life, but that was a fact more than an accusation. Dia found his smile widening at her beautiful, heartfelt words, just like that time when she first told Pearl and him of her true name. He squeezed her hand once before he said, "I would really like that, Miss Platinum."
He followed her gaze, and, like her, he imagined that his ever-reliable best friend was there, too. Pearl may not be there physically, but he would always be there with them in spirit. Because the Sinnoh Trio would always be both one and a trio, would always be together bravely facing whatever was to come their way. Right now, Pearl wasn't here, but Dia knew the other would think of the same thing he was. "It's a promise, right?"

Glancing sidelong at her friend, she took his hand and pulled him away from their stopped spot in order to walk together. "Let us stroll around the lake," was her quick explanation, though her hand stayed wrapped gently about his own as she moved. "We will make it happen, if we can locate our missing friend. For now let us just enjoy the company that we share in such an unlikely situation." Platinum didn't really know how she was going to continue from this point onwards. She merely knew that as soon as she stepped away from Diamond they would both disappear back to their respective worlds.
"It is a promise." She folded the lonely hand against her side as they walked, and she pondered over the different choices that had lead them to the place that they had reached. "There is an adventure I believe that we could have, one that would benefit many the way that we have done before. We have managed to assist in the destruction of one evil organisation, Dia." She breathed out slowly, contemplating what the depth of her words might mean, should they choose to pursue a path of righteousness against the Knights.
"Who is to say that we cannot assist in the destruction of another?'
Dia allowed himself to be led by Platinum into a slow stroll, his eyes taking in everything in his surroundings: from the lake, to the trees, to the tall grass... Anything to keep his mind off the fact that she was holding his hand like this. He'd rather feel it, than think about it. Her smooth hand wrapped around his was warm in contrast to the slight cool of metal of the ring she wore on that hand. He focused on her slow, firm words; her statement affirming the promise and her ideas of a possible adventure they could have.
As she explained so, his memories of their adventure years ago came to mind again. Back then, they were just three kids on a journey to Mount Coronet, two clueless manzai-loving boys 'escorting' (but secretly supposed to be bodyguard-ing) a 'tour guide' (that was actually a rich heiress) to the top of the mountain. And then when Team Galactic attempted to take the Lady for ransom in Veilstone and captured her father and Professor Rowan, the three of them got involved with the evil team. Pearl and him would have gone home, but then Platinum declared her desire to stop them, and things spiraled on from there, ending with the three of them becoming Sinnoh's heroes.
Nearly everything in his life relating to Platinum began with a coincidence, or the events deciding his path for him. But that didn't mean he could make his decision. If it was something his heart really wanted to do, he would follow it.
Now, he came back to Sinnoh with the goal of keeping close to his loved ones to be able to protect them when the need arose, and to also protect his beloved region. He... hadn't actually thought of actively pursuing or defeating the new evil organization. Now that Platinum was laying out the idea, he began pondering, the parallel with the Team Galactic situation not escaping his mind.
"You mean that we are going to actively fight and stop the Knights of Arceus?" Dia met his female companion's eyes. "To be honest, I actually came back so that I could protect everyone and Sinnoh. But I guess that stopping the Knights could also be a way to accomplish that, right?"

Platinum nodded with solemn agreement as they walked along. His voice floated into her head and his words of understanding were what she hadn't realised she had needed to hear. With her friends so far away she could do nothing about the threats and the horrors in the world. But with them by her side she was gifted with clear-seeing, the wisdom that she was known for, and she felt like a weight was lifted from her mind to give her the strength to see what needed to be done.
What she and the others needed to do. She, Diamond and Pearl could work together and be the heroes that they had once been. They had not thought to do that, just worried about the safety of those they loved but what better way to protect from a threat than to eliminate the threat entirely? "If I am honest, Dia, I had not thought to take out the threat either. Not truly with resolve... But being around you and having you close gives me the inspiration to go on."
The heiress gave a gentle squeeze of his hand, a comforting gesture (or so she assumed, not realising he was doing his best to ignore their shared hand holding) as she continued the slow walk along the path. "I believe stopping them would be the most finite way to save everyone. All of those we love, all those we care for and those we do not know, those are whom we must save, and by removing these criminals who seek to change our world for the worse. If I was to stop them, Dia, would you help me? I do not believe I can accomplish it on my own, and you are my strength."
"Oh..." Platinum's metallic-hued eyes were as sharp as steel in their resolve and determination and what Dia felt now was no different to the previous times he found himself pinned by those orbs. He inhaled deeply, admiration and awe rushing through him. When she spoke like that, in her inherent regal manner, it was hard to say no. And for Dia, who had very deep platonic feelings for the lady, already had his answer the moment she dropped the question.
"Yes. Yes, I will help you, Miss Platinum." He returned her silvery-gold determined gaze with a less sharper but equally resolute blue gaze of his own. As he moved, their hands brushed again, and this time, he could no longer ignore it. His free hand moved and laid it on top of their intertwined hands, and he gently squeezed her soft hands in between his. "I'll always support you no matter what decision you make or whatever you want to do." With a small smile, he added, "It definitely won't be easy, but I'm sure as long as we work together, we can try and do our best, right?"

Platinum had never really intended to haul her friend up in her gaze. She didn't know how deeply his feelings ran for her as genuine emotion still managed to elude her for the most part. She had, however, wanted to inspire him to stand with her and his answer let her shoulders sink in relief. Silvery gaze softened and she smiled at the gentle squeeze of her hand, greatly appreciating the gesture. Dia was always on her side, she hoped that Pearl would be too. She longed for the third in their trio to be here, but instead was merely glad that at least two thirds of the collection were together. "Thank you, Dia. With you on my side, nothing can go wrong. We need to find Pearl, also. Ask him to help."
She let a genuine smile spread across her lips as she tugged him back to a walking pace, enjoying both the breeze and the view that went along with the company. "First I believe we will have to gather information. And then we can work on what we must do in order to save the world. It will take some time, I am sure, but I know that we can make a miracle happen if we put our minds to it." She blinked over at him briefly.
"Do you know anything about the current happenings? Unfortunately I think we are all in the dark as of now, though we can change that, I suppose."
Dia's face was positively flushing with joy at Platinum's genuine and heartfelt declaration. His other hand returned back to his side, but he kept the other intertwined with hers as they resumed their pace walking by the lake. "Let's look for Pearl together. I'm sure he'll agree to join us once we tell him of our plan today." Of course, Pearl also loved his home region, and he would not tolerate attempts to destroy it. The aid of his leadership skills and quick wit would be definitely appreciated in this quest.
If Pearl were here, he'd definitely know how to start with this quest. Platinum evidently learned a lot from the other boy from the way she was taking charge of the situation, like right now.
The blue-haired teen pondered over her question before answering, "I've heard quite a bit in my travels, Miss Platinum. The Knights of Arceus have been attacking towns in different regions. Johto and Kanto were hit the most badly, supposedly. But even when I was in Unova, I'd hear of recent attacks in one of its cities, so I guess they're still out there." He frowned. "I tried to get as much information about Sinnoh as I could once I arrived, but it's only been a couple of days and I think I haven't heard everything yet. Do you know, Miss Platinum?"

"I am truly thankful, Diamond." She cooed back as she leant against his side. The casual pace was easy and warm and she hardly recognised the feeling of peace that she gained walking so close to her friend. "Finding Pearl will be the first step in our new plan, we must greet him and get him to join us." She nodded, "I-- I am glad that we can spend the time searching for him together. I do not want to be apart from you again. When we find Pearl, I do not want to be apart from you any more." Dark hair blew around her face, softening her features as she thought slightly dreamily about this plan of theirs.
"Do you think we should go back to Twinleaf? Pearl might be there, or perhaps you have already been home?" Trying to get a scope for where they might head, she pondered momentarily as she chewed the inside of her lip. Platinum could honestly say that the more they spoke the more keen she was to get these plans started. Though, they definitely needed the blond to complete their group in order to succeed to the best of their abilities.
"I have been in Sinnoh during some of the storms. My family has reported a loss of three hotels here in Sinnoh, so our losses are not as great as they were in Johto, where the destruction was enormous. We have had Oreburgh and Floaroma destroyed here, though I am frightened to admit that we have been the least affected of all regions. Perhaps it is a sign we should prepare?" Platinum looked a little concerned even as she spoke. Sinnoh had, so far, been spared the worst of the storms. But that for now meant they had the most places that could be affected.
"We have to protect our region if it is to be the next target."
Dia smiled softly as he supported Platinum's weight leaning against him. It felt nice, somehow, the feeling that a lady he knew as strong and dependable could still be like this for him. It made him more determined to protect her as best as he could. "I don't want to be apart from the both of you two, either. Next time I go on a journey, I'll be sure to take you two along with me. It's more fun, after all."
Adjusting his hat with his other hand, the boy answered, "I was at Twinleaf the other day, but Pearl wasn't home. His mom said he was travelling around Sinnoh, too. I tried contacting him, but there wasn't an answer." He looked disappointed but perked back up just as quickly. "But I think if both of us were looking for him, we can find him much easier too."
The news that Sinnoh was still relatively safe compared to the other regions both comforted and worried Dia for the same reasons that Platinum did. All the more they should take action then, and as soon as they can.
"We will. We're going to protect Sinnoh. The three of us," he declared with a quiet determination.

When it came to physical contact, Platinum was not the most experienced. Certainly there had been times when she had hugged and held the hands of her friends, or offered a comforting squeeze to the shoulder, but she was not normally one to cuddle up and rest against their sides, to take comfort in the warmth of arms around herself. But she did feel comfortable and happy with Diamond holding her so gently. She felt safe, which was something she would never have thought she'd feel in a world wrought with terror.
Platinum let her smile graze her lips, a feeling of warmth bubbling up from inside her as she nodded up at him. "Travelling around Sinnoh does sound like something that Pearl might do. At least he might be safe with that in mind. Travelling a lot means they cannot pin him down." Silvery, metallic eyes shimmered in hope with her words, praying that she was right in her assumptions of Pearl's safety.
She longed for a message from her friend, longed for confirmation that he was well and safe. She knew her dreams for now were far fetched, but just something so simple as a message by a Starravia would be enough to calm her fears. "Diamond? Would you like to come back to the hotel with me tonight as somewhere to stay before we make our journey? If not, I will understand, but being able to hear our Pokedexes beep in synchronization in the morning is something I truly miss."
[ ooc: I'm so sorry I thought I replied to this. I think we can probably start a new thread where they're looking for Pearl or something soon, maybe? ]
Diamond tilted his head, mouth formed in an 'o' in slight surprise and question. After a while, he answered in good humour, "If my appetite and my presence is not going to be much trouble, then I'll gladly take your offer, Miss Platinum." He wanted to look for Pearl as soon as possible, too.
He gave her hand a last squeeze back before slowly letting go (so as to not give her the wrong impression). Jamming his cap down more securely on his head, he turned to her and said, "Let's head back." Their Pokemon should have had a good rest by now.
[ooc: No problem to being late for this and for starting a new one! So, we end this thread at this point then? And later start the other one where they look for Pearl?]
