HISTORY ♯ Maxine Cadence was born in the Unovan city of Castelia on the third of March, the humble daughter of a poor couple hardly making a living in the sleepless city. Between two low paying jobs and having to rent the tiny apartment that the trio lived in, money was always tight, even from the very get go, but this did not throw her childhood into anarchy quite yet. While it was a struggle to make it by, they managed together and the pinkette's childhood days were peaceful and joyous. Every night she would fall into the arms of slumber with her father's classical and jazz music humming in her ears and every morning she would be awoken by her mother's gentle features and welcoming arms lifting her into the air and greeting her to another day. To say her infant days were harsh would be a horrible lie, surely. ♯ Things did not change much over the years of her childhood. When school started up, both parents managed to locate better paying jobs and, while things weren't exactly easy, they were still a step up from the way they'd been before. Sadly, the girl was often mocked for her poor, cheap clothing, her parents' state of mind brought into question and her own lifestyle tossed to the lion's den. During her younger days, the child grew to be self conscious about herself, though never brought up such topics with her parents. ♯ When she was just starting out her second grade year, the young lass and her parents discovered that, within nine month's time, another infant would be joining their family. While the two adults were ecstatic about this turn of events, she, herself, was less than pleased, realizing that, with another mouth to feed, there would be less money and attention going towards her and the taunting at school would only increase. For months she wished the baby dead within her mother's womb before her wish was finally granted. The miscarriage shook the entire foundation on which the trio lived, yet it still took her a good more number of months before she realized just how terrible of a prayer she had made to destroy her younger sibling before they even saw the light of the sun. ♯ In the fourth grade, her father managed to find himself in a wonderfully paying job and the struggle for food and clothing seemed like a distant nightmare. While they were not what one could consider rich, multiple steps on the staircase of life were climbed. In addition to the full meals on their plates at night, Max also began to notice the lack of mockery thrown her way at school, her own social status skyrocketing. It was at this time that her father bought her the very first bass she was to own, enrolling her in the school's orchestra and hunting down the best tutors for her that they could possibly afford. Between the money spent into finding a good teacher and the pinkette's own determination to make her beloved father proud, she excelled greatly in her instrument playing, even if her athletic and singing skills were highly impaired. ♯ The model-to-be was just ending middle school - halfway through her eighth grade year - when her mother was first diagnosed with cancer. Much like the death of their soon-to-be family member, the doctor's words drove the shallow stake deeper into their ordinary life. It appeared as though the case was treatable, though the odds would have been much higher had the cancerous cells been discovered at an earlier date. Despite this, her father was willing to do anything he could to save his wife, regardless of the costs. That being said, the woman was thrown into extensive treatment, the price tag hardly even being noticed by any of the trio. ♯ Things were finally looking up in the older woman's treatments - a few more rounds of chemotherapy and she would be free once more - when the cruel hand of disaster decided to strike the family once more. While home alone, her father - the man she loved more than any other and aspired to be like one day - died of a sudden heart attack, the two females of the family not even aware of his passing until the next day. When the two began to plan for his funeral, they discovered the price of saving one's life and mourning for another's; the remaining members of the family had been thrown into a terrible amount of debt, they and their now deceased man of the house having been oblivious to the exact cost the entire time. ♯ Max had graduated from high school just months before their guardian angle in the form of a simple business man came to them, offering them the answers to their prayers. The stranger claimed to be a friend and coworker of her father before he had passed away. After hearing about the struggle his family had been going through in his wake, he'd set out to find them and do anything he could to assist. He claimed to have connections to a man who could hook the eighteen-year-old up with a well paying job that she would be able to keep until the debt was payed and, perhaps, even longer than that, depending on how well she excelled at it. The pinkette jumped at the oppritunity, willing to do anything to save their home... and themselves. ♯ At the age of nineteen, the young woman was first exposed to the career of a model. While, at first, things seemed extreme and the fact that she had little time to even see her mother sounded ridiculous, she grew used to the life with time. While the "man who owned her soul" was harsh and offered little leeway with her new job, she swiftly found a name for herself and found that, while she also came to enjoy what she did, the debt they'd piled up over those past few years began to vanish. ♯ Two years later, she has become well known in several mainstream regions and, though against her will, has become somewhat of a singer, even if she isn't too particularly good at it. While she and her mother are still in debt's icy grip, she believes that their worries are soon to be over and the "selling of her soul" will have payed off. OTHER ♯ Max doesn't work well with others to put it simply. She's fairly competitive in nature, going as far as to seek and destroy anyone threatening she or her position and finds it very difficult for her to put her trust into the people around her. Those she claims to be her friends are generally disposable and cast aside as soon as she possibly can do so. However, she, herself, does not see it as betrayal on her part - just doing something that will benefit for them both in the end. ♯ While also known for her singing career, not only is she poor at said skill, but she doesn't particularly enjoy it as much as she should. Instead, she is rather skilled at string instruments - the bass, particularly - as she learned from a young age as to impress her father who adored the orchestras across the region. She tells few of this talent, however, and only plays when she is certain there are no snooping ears to hear. ♯ This woman's favorite style of music is jazz; actually, it's the only kind of music she'll bring herself to listen to. She's extremely picky in the sense, even demanding that, during her job, the only genre they play for her is just that - jazz. While the smooth, calming music is the only sort she'll bring herself to listen to, she truly does enjoy the sounds of vocals and various instruments and has made a vow to name the few Pokemon she owns and will ever own after musical terms. ♯ Max was raised in a family that thought of Pokemon less as partners or tools of battle, but more of household pets to look at and feed. Over the years, she's kept these theories true. Despite the fact that many would call her a trainer rather than a coordinator due to the fact she does not follow any of their traditions and lands closer so the common Pokemon owner than anything, she claims that she is simply a "friend of Pokemon"; nothing more, nothing less. The thought of using her Pocket Monsters for battle, in fact, almost disgusts her and she often found scolding those who attempt to fight against one another using them around her. ♯ At this point in time, she really has no control over her life. Everywhere she goes, everything she wears, even most of what she eats is all determined for her by her boss, the man who practically owns her life. Very rarely does she get time off and, what she does, she treasures. ♯ Max, sadly, has a horrible sweet tooth. Horrible as in, if she spots any sort of sugary food that doesn't require payment, it will require a great deal of effort in order to tear her away from it. It does not help much when her agent insists that she not eat such fatty foods as the ones she's grown obsessed with in order to maintain her toothpick-like figure. ♯ The pinkette rarely sees her mother, hardly having time to herself, much less to visit her family members. Despite the fact that she works solely to pay of the debt created by saving the older woman's life, however, a rift has been formed between the two and she feels like less of a mother and more of a person one would wave at in passing. To be entirely honest, she is not sure if, even once her debt is payed, she will be able to return to life as normal. ♯ Loyalties are nothing but a fantasy to this woman. Relationships between she and others are easily severed and can be forgotten like a bad hangover. Truly, the only loyalty she has is to those with power and wealth. Follow the money and you can never go wrong. ♯ She doesn't know particularly when she started, much less why - perhaps to fit in better with the people around her - but she's become a bit of a flirt over time, finding amusement in twisting the opposite gender around her finger with ease. Another bad habit she's started is drinking wine frequently. As in, multiple glasses a day. It's a bad habit she cannot bring herself to shake, not caring at all how it affects her. ♯ POKEMON sonata, male wooper water absorb water gun ▸ mud sport ▸ tail whip amnesia ▸ yawn ▸ rain dance melody, female beedrill swarm poison sting ▸ fury attack ▸ twineedle rage ▸ focus energy ▸ pursuit harmony, female marill thick fat water gun ▸ rollout ▸ defense crul bubblebeam ▸ helping hand ▸ aqua ring allergro, male meowth pick up fury swipes ▸ payday ▸ bite growl ▸ screech ▸ slash IN PC N/A MEGURINE LUKA FROM VOCALOID is MAXINE CADENCE THIS CHARACTER IS PLAYED BY *LEAP |
