It had been almost a week of solid work on Crystal's behalf. Since moving to Ecruteak all she had done was dedicate herself to the soul purpose of finding the legendary beasts and helping them do what was necessary to take out the Knights. But so far her search had been fruitless and she had worn herself out pouring over books and praying at the Bell Tower after she had gained permission from Morty himself.
Knowing that there was little more she could do when she was burned out, the capturer of the dex holders had decided to go on a walk. And what she had planned on being a short stroll had ended up taking closer to a few hours. The sun had begun to sink into the clouds and she knew that she was unlikely to make it back to her new home before dark as she had reached the borders of the Ilex forest in her travels.
Dropping her bag - which she'd luckily remembered to bring with her - she sat by the trunk of a tree as she glanced into the thicket of wood. The natural areas of Johto had, thankfully, been largely unaffected by the wreckage the earthquakes had brought, and the fact that there was very little damage warmed her heart. The Ilex forest was sacred. Within it was the Shrine where they had battled desperately against a foe.
Resting her head back against the trunk of the tree, she let a breath of air out and closed her eyes. She hadn't realised how exhausted she was until she stopped and she was glad then that she had no issue camping.
The colours that stained the sky as the sun began to set were warm and welcoming, belying the horrors that had taken place in the region not so very long ago. Perhaps it wasn't safe for someone to be camping alone with no tent, to be out in the open, but she just wanted to relax and enjoy her downtime.
In a way, Crystal just wished she could have some semblance of company.

Traveling around Johto was never a favored pastime, even before the earthquake that reduced most of the region to a shell of its former self. The feeling of disappointment that ingrained itself in Silver's mind the first time he re-traversed the entire region was unmistakable, seeing old faces with that same bow and muttered apology turned mantra, shoving gym badges back into their hands before murkrow flew him to his next destination without pausing for a beat. He never stayed for small talk, or catching up on old times, because even though there was 'time' back then, things like that made the feeling sharper, stronger and in control, something that made him scowl while murkrow complained from above about how he was gripping its claw too hard.
Ecruteak looked like when he first came back to it: changed slightly because of the battles fought in the past, but still the same quiet, standing town it'd been when Team Rocket - and ultimately, Silver - crossed paths with it, a long time ago. In the past, Silver wandered around the towns and cities he landed in because the opportunity to relax presented itself to him. Now, things differ, and Silver, recalling honchkrow, greeted the place with narrowed eyes and silence, taking in the surroundings. There were a lot of things that he didn't trust anymore - first impressions, outward looks, semblances of peace, and relaxing without trust was always a bad combination. So he, after a pause, adjusted both gloves, buried his head down and mentally checked over the list of places to visit, things to check. All for strictly business-related matters, nothing more.
It was when he was looking at the bell tower, pondering the quickest way to get there without being interrupted along the way, that he saw her. Leaning on a tree, not doing much, just...sitting there. Briefly, he considered sweeping straight past, but part of it just didn't feel right, even disregarding the fact that she was a friend. So he sighed to himself, strode forward and uttered a "Hey.", then trailed off, because there wasn't much more say for something unexpected like this. | it'll get shorter next post, sorry about that! |

Crystal was almost asleep when she had been approached by her friend. It had been a long time since they had known one another - going on ten years, in fact - but she still felt that now and then, Silver could be a stranger to her. He was often distracted and distant, which was very different from she and Gold who were upfront about their emotions, but at least she was a touch more serious than their gold-eyed companion. Blue gaze lifted as she heard the sigh and she snapped herself out of her daze. How exactly could she react when she was near a friend whom had been absent mostly from her life? Quickly the blue-haired young woman righted herself against the trunk of the tree, slightly embarrassed to have been caught so disheveled by someone who was almost always more put together than she was. She did however let a warm smile spring onto her lips. As sad as she was for Emerald's passing and the rest of the world it was a relief to know that one of her friends was at least relatively unharmed. "Silver, I didn't expect to see you here." She said, the warmth from her lips transferring onto her voice with the comfort she felt knowing that he was alright. "In fact I have hardly seen you at all lately, how have you been?" The mothering, nosy side of the young woman was coming out as she sat up that little bit taller. "You haven't checked in for a while, with all this crazy villain business you had me a bit worried. But I'm glad to see you none-the-less, would you like to come sit with me? I walked all this way thinking I'd be able to make it back to Ecruteak by nightfall but I think I'll just camp here for now and could definitely appreciate the company."Tag: SILVER No worries it was fine :3 My starters always suck so xD
