Lavender town had not fared well after the destruction, nowhere in the region had, but Lavender town had been a small place with very little support before hand. now, with massive property damage and Pokemon tower in a state where trying to climb it would be insanely dangerous even without the restless ghost pokemon. they were not in a good state.
12year old Misaki was walking through the streets of the town, hurrying home now that the sun had been set about an hour and egger to get back for lunch, she hummed happily as she skipped. unaware she was being watched from the shadows, by the shadows themselves. unknown right up until they struck, Misaki didn't even have time to scream as purple, ghostly hands grabbed her and dragged her away to the ruins of pokemon tower. even though there was no longer a bell to be struck, the entire town heard it chime a dozen times.
--
it was the next day when Jacob entered town, his gloved hands in the pockets of his waist coat as he looked around through his rose tinted glasses, his long red coat blowing out behind him in the wind. he scowled as he looked over the damaged and destroyed buildings, it was sick, what those monsters had done to this land, completely devoid of humanity. they needed to pay, they all had to be stopped. but as much as he wished it, there wasn't actually much he could do, he wasn't aware of as much as where to find the bastards, and he wasn't dumb enough to fight an entire organisation like that alone.
Shaking his head to clear the budding fantasy’s of being the hero and saving the day, Jacob started to look for something to do while here, when he came across a woman crying her eyes out and being comforted by another villager. while usually he wouldn't listen in on a clearly personal and important conversation, the fact that he had heard the word "taken" being used made him curious.
Jacob leaned against the wall of one of the more intact buildings and eavesdropped as best as he could, going unnoticed by the two as they talked.
"my baby girl... my poor sweet Misaki." The woman wailed, shaking even as the man put an arm around her shoulders. "I’ve lost her! dragged away who knows where! by who knows what!" she added, before descending into nothing but weeping against the man's shoulder. Jacob raised an eyebrow in concern. he didn't like this idea of a kidnapping. not one bit. and was starting to think he had found something to occupy himself with.
