It was easy to feel calmer in a quiet town. A lot of the time Elesa had was spent in the town she ran and Nimbasa was hardly a place of quiet. It was almost as bustling as Castelia on some days, which meant it was always a happy circumstance when one job or another would lead her out of her hometown and into someplace with less populace. Accumula happened to be one of those quieter towns.
She had snuck in quietly first thing in the morning for a sunrise shoot and had been finished by the late morning, which was what had brought the shocking female gym leader to the small park in the middle of the city. A dark, short wig kept her looking different from her regular appearance, whilst sporting jeans and a t-shirt meant she blended in with the crowd.
When you were famous, you had to be careful.
Her Emolga played happily on the grass as she sat lazily in the sun, her knees tucked beneath herself and her sunglasses on her face. Sooner or later she would have to come back to reality and sometimes she felt as if that was one of the worst things she could have. Desperately she hoped that someone would take up the script she had put forth to Pokestar movies so that for a short while she could rest up behind the camera as a director or producer.
"Mira, why don't you try some acrobatics." She said softly to the flying mouse, who began to do the attack in twirls on the grass. She would spend the day in this quiet town, she decided. She would enjoy it properly.

It was a nice day overall. Perfect for walking in the park, having an ice cream, or maybe trying insane possibly fatal overall useless over-complicated tricks on your oversized golden bird. It wasn't hard to guess which Kyouhei was doing. Well, after taking an ice cream, as you my dear reader of course guesses, he decided to try that last option, because the first one sounded awfully boring.
It resulted in the attempts, a few successful, of a succession of tricks as the nail roll, the barrel roll, and overall the top-down flight. The last one was a bit tricky, since the boy insisted it was the most convenient position if he ever needed to grab something mid-air, and thus was training the maneuver while on the back of the Pidgeot. Using no hands. On reverse, his head facing the floor.
Even if he did agree with Geatta's worries and decided to fly low, the disaster was more than obvious. The first few attempts were mildly successful, and any bystanders would be able to notice the Pidgeot flying around, since it's altitude was pretty low. The second one he almost slipped, but it was alright. In the third, though, the young male insisted in letting it run for more time.
His knees couldn't hold his body for long enough and he fell to the ground, on grass, with a loud thump. It surely wasn't fatal, but it looked painful. Kyouhei opened his eyes a few seconds afterwards, rubbing the back of his head, his back aching severely and his vision, a blur. First attempt to get up: futile.

Elesa recognised the palm-tree shape of Kyouhei's hair almost immediately as he fell from the sky. She had been, in truth, half-watching and waiting for the bird to drop the strange boy on it's back and it had been somewhat amusing for the leader to watch out of the corner of her eye. But it had surprised her more when she had seened exactly whom it was that was attempting sky-tricks and she painted on a smirk in the image of beauty as she slowly got to her perfectly poised feet.
She sashayed her way over to where the boy lay looking slightly muddled, and leant over him without second thought. Lowering her sunglasses to the tip of her nose, she quirked a perfectly plucked eyebrow and snickered softly. "That was some landing of yours, fluff ball. I'm surprised your hair didn't cushion your landing more. Didn't hurt yourself, did you?" Elesa wasn't sure that that would give her identity away, but with a flick of her hand the Emolga that had so recently been performing gymnastic tricks fluttered over and landed on her shoulder.
"Can't say I've seen you around the region lately. Caught sight briefly of your girlfriend a few times, though she has always been better looking and more welcoming than you, so I guess I should be glad of that." She offered him her hand, the Emolga on her shoulder mimicking the offering as if she too wanted to help him up. "Come on, right yourself now or everyone will think you're seriously injured and call the Pokemon centre. I don't want to lose my day off because you made a scene falling out of the sky."

You know, the sun felt really good on his face despite the pain on his back. But then it was blocked. WHO GOES THERE oh it's a lady. Looking up, Kyouhei tried to adapt his still blurry vision to see who it was, hearing her words and...well, the voice and 'fluff ball'. He could only remember one person who called him that. Constantly so, in a gym battle that was mostly him just being very afraid of the idea of getting hit in the crossfire, but a lot of fun nonetheless. Elesa Colburn.
Sure, she was disguised, but that was expected for someone of her fame. Truth to be said, he had a poster of her in his room, but he never felt like commenting about that. Right now, though, the unexpected encounter itself was racing through his mind as the trainer tried to process what had happened and what was happening.
After his gaze managed to discern Elesa in front of him and her Emolga at her shoulder, Kyouhei began to speak, even if still a bit dazzled. "I, er, I'm okay. That was intended." That was kind of becoming a catchphrase recently, Kyouhei.
The confused expression finally left his face as he heard girlfriend, instead being replaced by a startled one accompanied by a deep crimson blushing. Was that what people thought of him and Mei back then?! "I, er, uh, she's not my girlfriend! And, uh, I've...been out of the region. Training." Kyou took a deep breath, hoping the redness would leave his cheeks and the subject would be dropped entirely. The boy accepted her offer to help him up, grabbing her hand and pulling himself together.
"Sorry, didn't mean to make a scene with my...outstanding landing techniques. Uh, nice disguise, I guess, Elesa. You look good with it." He smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head with one hand and adjusting the visor with the other, admiring the part where he had fallen. "So this is where top models slash celebrity gym leaders take a day off?" He kept his voice low enough not to be heard by passersby, and despite talking to the leader, he looked at the Pokémon at her shoulder, nearing his finger to it, seeing if it'd play with it. He remembered this Emolga for a reason that could be summed up in two words: Volt. Switch.

Elesa couldn't help but chuckle to his reaction about the brunette. "Did you two break up? Sorry to hear that, fluffball. I'm sure someone else will come along and treat you good too." It was always amusing to see teenagers and their emotions. Their hideous blushing and strange ways of the heart. Born and raised in the spotlight, the gym leader had never really found childhood crushes. She had much too much to work for.
Even now, generally, love eluded her. Not that she was complaining. Too busy for a man or woman in her life.
"It's where we choose to spend the rest of our day after a morning of hard work, at least." She replied to his last question as she straightened up and the Emolga climbed onto her head, sitting atop the short black wig as if she were made to be there. "I had a shoot first thing this morning and I decided to hang around for a while. Enjoy what little time I had to be out of the gym and in the real world. As it is the challengers are few and far between since the attacks on the cities, and people are scared to come to Nimbasa because they worry the amusement park will be another target for a storm."
She shrugged her shoulders, "But that doesn't seem to stop the papparazzi from chasing celebrities if they want to get groceries or take a walk in the park. At least here, in Accumula, I can sit down in a disguise and people won't recognise me. I have to buy a new wig every week back home or people begin to figure out who I am. Too much of a staple sight, I suppose." She glanced at Geatta for a moment, before back at Kyouhei.
"You really shouldn't be throwing yourself out of the sky like that you know. And if you really want to, maybe taking some tips from someone like Skyla might help, rather than attempting to fall out of the sky here and there."

His blush grew a bit stronger again. "No, we nev-" Wait, people thought Mei was somewhere in his league? Wow, he felt flattered. Keep it at that, Kyouhei. Don't make things worse. "-y-yeah, you really think so? Uh, thanks." Smooth. Real smooth. The boy scratched his messy brown hair as the blush faded away as the subject changed as he intended it to. Whew.
"I only heard about the attacks recently." Kyou shifted his expression to a more casual one, dusting his clothes with his hands. "How much trouble do you think they are? I mean, you helped with Team Plasma the first time around, and I finished them off in the second." The boy shivered for a second. He didn't like that memory at all.
"I mean, they can't be that bad, right? I heard they hit Aspertia, but nothing more so far...Do you mind if I hit you up if I need anything? I don't think I have your number, but that'd be useful for just...calling in general." The young male smiled in his thoughts. Real smooth Kyouhei. Real smooth. She didn't even notice any second intentions. Not like getting the number of a super-model actress was a big achievement in his book, but it was. He hoped it would work.
"It must be a real bother not being able to walk five steps without people flocking at you. I'm lucky word of what me and Mei did getting around was so low and so few, right? Though I still think all these paparazzi and news people don't see you for the thing they should: as a Gym Leader." The boy's voice had some excitement added to it. He valued Elesa as an actress and model, too, having a poster of her in his bedroom since he was thirteen, but to be fairly honest, underestimated her as a gym leader until the actual battle.
She had been an actual challenge, and a very hard one to beat at that. Two words; Volt Switch. "It's not that I don't see your worth elsewhere, I just don't see you getting the praise you deserve for your battling skill. I was very impressed, Miss Elesa."
He sighed and reached for his back when she mentioned his flying training. "I tried giving her a call(read forty two calls) but she didn't answer." Kyouhei closed his brown eyes and stretched a bit. "So I figured I might as well try it a bit for myself...Think I'll wait for her now." Safer for his spine if he did.
The trainer sighed in relief as he finished stretching his arms, looking around to see if he hadn't attracted any unwanted attention. "So Miss Elesa, sorry for, uh, bothering whatever you were doing with your day with my...unwanted free-falling. Doesn't happen often, I swear." He smiled widely, scratching the back of his head.

Elesa didn't truly believe the pair had been a couple, but when she could she liked to buff people's ego. Honestly, she just thought it was cute that kids could hang out like that and not have the problem with sexual tension. She had so many people lusting after her as an idol that she just didn't believe people truly could develop feelings for the woman underneath.
Not like she was in any hurry, because it wasn't like she wanted children or a happy ever after. What she wanted was comfort and the ability to be who she was. Skyla and Valerie were good people for that and she didn't need lovers to have someone to hold close and share your life with. There were more important things. "You're lucky I guess, I was sorry to hear about Aspertia. But at least it's in repairs, I've noticed." She flicked a hand somewhat indignantly and watched as Mira began her acrobatics act again.
"You want my number?" She was almost amused by the audacity he'd had to ask, but she had to give him credit. Not many people would outright ask for her number. Scrutinising him over the rims of her dark glasses, Elesa smirked and grabbed his hand, pulling a pen from her pocket and writing her number down on it with a raised eyebrow. "Call me for anything other than a major emergency or a rematch and I might whip you and your team into the worst shape you've ever been." The threat however, was filled with mirth.
Cute as the young boy was, she was Elesa. And she didn't date kids. "And I swear to Arceus if you give it out you will be dead."
Tossing her head, she laughed softly at the idea that she might be recognised for things outside of her careers. "It can be hard but it's the life I chose. And it means that people like you do underestimate me. You'd be surprised how many people have actually lost to me, thinking they could walk into my gym without training, to take me down." She snickered to herself, putting her hands in her back pockets as she walked along.
"I'll give her a call too, tell her you need the training. She's only owing me about seven million favours. Then again I guess I owe her the same time, but I'm sure I can get her to give you a hand."
Elesa let her heels sink a ways into the grass before she stretched her arms into the air. "My day was going to be spent doing very little anyways. Can't say I'm bothered to have company. You're not actually hurt are you? I was just kidding about being annoyed, if you need a hospital let me know." She grinned as she kept walking. "No one knows it's me, don't worry. You just look like you caught the attention of someone way out of your league. Good going, fluffball. Maybe that was your plan all along."

"Thanks. I passed by and people are hard at work. Well, hard not to be when your city gets hit, but hey, I hope I'm around to help if yours does." The boy smiled, with no real interest behind those words in particular. Kyouhei wouldn't like if any more towns got hit, let alone in Unova, and would do his best to protect any that did. Besides, idol and crush or not, Elesa was a person, and a very nice one at that. He hoped even if his teenage fantasies stayed at that level, he could at least be her friend.
There was a sudden grip in his chest and neck when she questioned about him asking for her number, the look questioning his audacity not aiding in the least. She'd probably notice how nervous he got by expression alone, complete with raised eyebrows and a cold glare of tensions and suspense, only to be abandoned with a sigh of relief when she did agree with his request.
The threats however, filled with amusement as they might be, did scare him a bit. The woman was an electric type trainer, after all, and while he had strong Pokémon he himself wasn't a fan of shock. At all. "I'll, er, be sure to remember that. I don't want to be hunted down, haha, er-" The chuckle was nervous and the delivery dry. Her figure and reputation were very intimidating on their own. "I, er, might call for some rematches soon though! In whatever time's, er, convenient for you. You know, to train and all, in these...important times..." Well, it was the closest thing Kyou was getting to a date with a celebrity, might as well take advantage of it to train for the battles against the Knights, too. His voice returned to it's normal state with yet another deep sigh of relief as the subject slowly subsided.
"It's just...I think most people don't think it's possible. To balance out so many careers and be good at them all, outstanding even. I did try to come prepared, though!" Kyouhei smiled a bit more widely, trying to feel a little more relaxed in the conversation, a little less on edge talking with a top model and actress. It was a bit of complimenting, sure, but the tone of admiration in his voice was quite obvious: He was a bit of a fan, after all. Not like the poster was enormous or anything.
The boy tried to imitate her relaxed pose, putting his hands on his short's pockets while walking along Elesa. "Thanks a lot! I could really use the classes, specially in the near future, considering the recent events." He looked down. "Eventhoughshedidn'tanswermycalls." The trainer muttered the last part in a hurry under his breath, with a voice tone of genuine frustration and self-doubt.
There was a big smile on the boy's face when she mentioned she couldn't complain about the company, though, as if all his worth had been proven in one sentence, and he'd have jumped in happiness if he hadn't controlled himself and his expression too, making the outburst be cut short before it was too noticeable. "I'm okay, see? Don't worry." Kyouhei stretched his back. It hurt a bit, but it was nothing serious at all. Just a bad fall. As they kept walking, however, a red tint once again claimed the boy's cheeks. "I-I-wasn't trying to catch you attention-I mean not like it's bad to have-I mean, uh, that's nice. Uh, discreet." His words were desperate to explain themselves and the crimson just got more prominent. Worst save ever, kid.

Elesa strolled casually - as if she wasn't wearing the heels she was and as if she was just as comfortable as in a pair of sneakers. Hands in her back pockets cooly, she watched him through the dark glass of her shades and had to let a small snicer pass through her lips. The poor boy had really hoped he might get a date out of her, but as sweet and nice as the fluffball was, Elesa had very particular taste. And he just wasn't in that list - nor was he someone she had a close friendship with and trustworthy as he may be, she just didn't have any semblance of attraction to him.
"Yes, the rematches will be good, kiddo. I'm sure you'll be amazed by how good my little zappy babies have gotten over the time we've been apart. I've had a few good years of training, you know." She flicked her eyes over to Mira, who was sparking around the edges with her acrobatics. She needed to learn how to add to that move, but that would be for another time and place.
"It's not easy. If I didn't love what I do so much I'm sure I'd be struggling with the concept of having so many careers, but as it stands I love my jobs. I love modelling and acting, and I love being behind the camera. I also happen too love testing trainers in a shocking battle of electricity." Reaching over to pat him on the top of his head, she grinned. "You did a good job in our battle, and I was glad that someone took me seriously. It was a relief to know that someone didn't think 'oh look, someone famous who got handed a position of power without working for it' because I had a long and hard task of getting that gym for my own."
Elesa let out a long breath of air and nodded. "Like I said, I'll see if I can call in a favour. I mention that shiny little Pidgeot of yours and I'm sure she'll be interested."
Nodding at him, she laughed. "You're blushing you know. Sorry I wasn't impressed by your tumble. Next time I'll wait to see if any other attractive young ladies approach. Don't want to be a block after all." Elesa grinned. Oh, the fluff ball was fun to tease.
Post by KYOUHEI HANAMURA on Nov 8, 2013 13:57:04 GMT 9.5
Kyouhei smiled at the little but ultimately unexpected success his attempt had given him. Okay, considering her celebrity status and the simple fact she was way out of his league, a date with her was far too much of a stretch to even begin considering a goal, but the rematches? It meant doing what he liked with someone he wanted to know better.
How pretty she was aside, Elesa was always a pretty cool person with him, way different than the snarky self centered individual the boy originally expected the top model to be(though she was still fairly snarky), and he wanted to get to know her better. Without invoking the anger of her Emolga, if possible.
The young trainer chuckled a bit with joy, shaking his fist in the air to demonstrate how he felt about the rematches. Very excited indeed. "Yes! That's what I wanted to hear. I trained too these last few years, so this should be a lot of fun." There was a spark in his brown eyes when fighting a challenging opponent was a possibility in the near future, almost like a child opening a present at Christmas Eve. It was the same expression Kyou had on his face four years ago when he first faced her in quite a shocking duel.
He heard silently as she talked about her many careers but when the Gym Leader patted his head, a childish grin formed on trainer's lips, like those of a son being praised by his parents, and it only widened with the compliments. "I could never have underestimated you, Miss Elesa. I watched a lot of your battles before, the ones they broadcasted, that is! If that was not talent, I don't know what was." Careful, Kyouhei. Your fanboy is showing a bit.
Just nodding at she acknowledged his shiny Pidgeot and it's potential to convince Skyla, his blush continued strong as it was when Elesa commented once more as his accident was to attract the attention of girls around the park. She sure loved teasing him, now. "He-Hey! I can flirt just fine, ok? I don't need to fake accidents to pick up girls!"
The young male tried to sound offended, but the truth came out as obvious with his ruby cheeks: It was nothing but an attempt to ease the embarrassment, ironically enhancing the effects of the teasing in the process. The electric type trainer was right: He probably was a fun target to tease.
Post by ELESA COLBURN on Nov 9, 2013 22:24:05 GMT 9.5
Fanboy was showing a bit indeed. It was not unusual for Elesa to hear the excitement in the tones of young men. She had been an icon for quite a few years now - having maintained her looks despite all odds against her, according to the tabloids. But she had shaken the grounds of fame and had maintained both her stature as a gym leader and as a model and actress. She raised an eyebrow at his tone and grin, but merely smirked to herself as she continued onwards. "Don't underestimate me this time then either, Kyouhei. We will have both improved and our battle will definitely be one full of sparks."
There was a twinkle in her eye that Kyouhei may have noticed were he not too doe-eyed. Elesa did love her careers equally, but something came alive in her when she was battling, and the very idea of a true challenge made her practically spark at the edges. She was the lightning mistress for a reason, and her skin crackled with the sensation of static electricity whenever she thought about she and her electric team taking to the stage together.
"I don't know about your talent with flirting. Show me. Skyla can teach you to fly and I can perhaps teach you to attract the fairer gender. You might even get a girlfriend out of all this, since you tell me the cute little brunette isn't your pet. Might make her my own, thinking about it. Tell her to give me a call too, will you?" This one was a tease, and her voice dripped with sass and cheek. But Elesa was having too much fun to give it up. Besides, it wasn't often she could actually have a conversation with young men before they started drooling on her. She could at least attempt to get a few minutes of a chat out of the fluffball.
Post by KYOUHEI HANAMURA on Nov 10, 2013 15:49:12 GMT 9.5
He nodded, smiling like he did when battle was involved, as a child running to open his Christmas' presents. "I won't, I promise!" And then he noticed it. What would make him identify with Elesa to a considerable degree. That spark in her gaze, the one that Kyouhei had heard others say he got when a true challenge awaited for him, when his heart was totally invested in a battle. Oh, this rematch would be fun. A lot of fun. A spark ran through his brown eyes as he thought about it, already trying to picture it.
The boy was sucked out of his mind's fantasies with battles when the subject became him and the opposite sex, a.k.a. nothing at all. He was a complete failure in that regard, hence why he stuck to just watching pretty ladies from afar. But this was an interesting possibility. "Uh, maybe you can help...I'm already pretty good, though!" Oh shut up. He was terrible. And while Kyouhei knew the thing with Mei was just a tease, he couldn't help but grow to an even deeper tone of red, to the point even his ears followed suit.
"A-a fli-flirt? Uh, uh, geez, I don't know..." Dammit. What did he do now?! Well, Kyouhei, give it your best shop. She's an electric type specialist. You can do something with that. Be creative. Listen to your brain. Come on brain, throw some genius at his way. There! There we go! Perfect.
"E-ever since I took a Pikachu, I've be-been wanting to wr-write you a love song..." Which was half true, considering the few failed poem attempts to Elesa from back when he was a more avid fanboy, but back to the matter at hand, that was some lame pun flirting. He should better prepare to suffer at the hands of teasing. His whole face was a bright tomato by then, his body but mainly face shivering a bit with embarrassment and nervousness. Ah, what he would give for a disguise now...
Post by ELESA COLBURN on Nov 13, 2013 15:32:13 GMT 9.5
Somehow Elesa dated how 'good' Kyouhei was at flirting, and she raised an eyebrow in an amused manner as he said she could give him the help he was offering. What she hadn't expected, however, was the words that came out of his mouth. The electric-type model, actress and gym leader was cool and collected until he finished speaking, and she couldn't help but let out a loud, somewhat uncharacteristic laugh, pushing her sunglasses back up her nose and having to collect herself.
"Oh, fluffball. That was cute." She patted him on the top of the head as she noticed how darkly he was blushing. Unfortunately for him, Elesa could tell a fanboy from forty paces and the electrical pokemon pun had not gone unnoticed. "Bet that was in a letter to me a few years ago, huh?" She teased, before walking on and allowing him the ability to collect himself from his embarrassment, grinning.
"I wouldn't call pick up lines the best means of flirting. You have to tell someone that they're interesting, pay attention when they're talking and make eyecontact. If they're interested back, particularly women, they'll touch your arm or smile a lot. Most of all find topics you really love to talk about, that's more attractive than using something cheesy like that. Cute as it was." She smirked, folding her arms as she swung her hips with her steps.
Elesa did feel like she was being a touch too teasing, and instead decided to be a bit more encouraging with her advice. "But, that being said, if you're meeting someone new and you want to make a big first impression in a crowd, a pick up line like that might work. Sometimes you have to evaluate the situation. Saying it to someone you're having a conversation with like me, might come across a bit awkward.. Which is when you blush, like you did then." She turned to look at him, "You're more attractive when you're being yourself and when you let the person see who you are. It means there's no tricks behind your words. You'll feel more comfortable, too, which helps with your confidence."
Post by KYOUHEI HANAMURA on Mar 30, 2014 15:32:17 GMT 9.5
That reaction was wholeheartedly expected.
That unfortunately didn't make it any less worse to respond to.
The mop-haired boy turned as crimson as a person could as Elesa chuckled, though her laugh was somehow pleasant to hear, like witnessing the blossoming of a flower that rarely does so. No time to admire that, though. Too busy being embarrassed.
Well, in fact, that was in a letter from a few years ago, but that was another issue entirely.
After a few brief moments of staring down and recomposing after that whole ordeal, the young man caught up to the gym leader with fast steps. "Ok, so...no pick up lines. So more like, actual simple compliments? I can do that, I suppose." Kyouhei's face slowly faded back into his actual skin color, and for a second he quite oddly just stared at her, as if scanning for something. His brown gaze then paused at her wig. "Your blond hair is very pretty. It shines in the light and it fits the whole electric theme well, being all...vibrant, and very...flowy in it's movement." His hands motioned frenetically in front of him as he spoke, the boy knowing the terms he used were, well, less than poetic. "We-Well, uh, not that's there anything wrong with your wig, it's just...I...like your hair better, I think?" The indecision settled once he realized she might take that as an insult.
Complimenting was tough.
"That is all 'myself' has, pretty much. I'm pretty bad at it, I know. I can only talk about battling after all. Either that or places I've been to, and both are boring." The trainer shrugged in frustration, but soon after, his face brightened up a bit. "But hey, I do look at other people a lot, maybe talking about them will work! Well, depends on the person. Do you like when we talk about you?"
Post by ELESA COLBURN on Apr 11, 2014 1:24:24 GMT 9.5
Elesa didn't really mean to be so cruel. She thought of Kyouhei more like the adorable little brother she'd never had and his skills in flirting left much to be desired. An a for effort, certianly, but his pick up line had her in stitches rather than swooning at her feet. It didn't help that the gym leader wasn't interested off the bat, wasn't eager to just let her heart take to someone. So guarded, so focused, it took a lot to make her feel for anyone in a manner other than simple platonic affection.
