Ulysses couldn't get his meeting with Black out of his head. He was able to escape, and his loss further reinforced his dislike for battling, and yet... He wasn't nearly as upset as he could be. Sure, none of his Pokemon could devour Black's apparently sweet, sweet dreams, but somehow, he felt challenged and motivated to do better in the name of the Knights. As far as Ulysses was concerned, it doesn't matter if Black defeated another medieval themed organization before. The Knights of Arceus were different, and blind worship wasn't his motivation. He was making the world a much safer place, and it's tough luck that people couldn't see the future they should be striving for. Fortunately, he has been working on making a safer, more peaceful world easier to see...
The Lotus Cafe appeared overnight by the road. A small and humble, but well-run establishment that serves tea, coffee, and little cakes, and only gets a few customers at a time. Surprising, as a whole building and patio appearing out of nowhere would attract more attention, but perhaps some have been wary about visiting such a mysterious place during such troublesome times. A nice young lady behind the counter, unbothered by the stares, seemed too otherworldly to remain in the presence of for too long. Maybe one or two brave souls stayed to have some of the food and drinks, but most took their coffee to-go.
Sitting out on the patio with a cup of tea, Ulysses occasionally shrugged his shoulders and answered questions whenever asked if it was safe to eat here, since he looked like a regular. And sighed whenever they didn't trust the cafe enough to stay. He murmured under his breath and took some more notes. Team Flare scum made owning a cafe look easy. His current experiment was clumsily conceived at best.
"Well... If all else fails, I can always practice some other things."
He sipped his tea and scanned the road.
