Sharing the Dream (Black's Plots)

[BLACK]

Friends:
Black is a nice guy, but he's rather... inconsiderate. It can put people off, but he's getting better. When Musha eats his dreams, though, his mind becomes clearer and he thinks out situations and other people's needs. One just has to be patient enough to deal with it.

Enemies:
Black took down Team Plasma. You can't just do that and walk away without enemies. Because of this, most of his enemies are members of what remains of Team Plasma, though former members may harbor some dislike of him. Except N, of course.

Lovers:
Black's lovers works similar to his friends: You just have to deal with him and get past his forgetfulness. He is very close to White, though....

I have lots of characters. Mei is probably the one most likely to have interacted with Black, though. Cause she was started before we got the BW2 manga, she's a bit different to how they portrayed her. She'd probably look up to him and squish him as a senpai kind of thing. xD Just warning you. She's very cuddly. -flail-

You have no idea how tempting it is to have Ulysses meet Black. I just don't know where to start. Well for one, practically all of Ulysses's PKMN would be suuuuper inclined to try eating Black's dreams/daydreams, hahaha... Which would naturally result in further research, because holy crap, what on earth is going on in this kid's head musharna go eat his dreams and expel some dream mist for note-taking--Curiosity Mode: ON.

Buuuut, Ulysses is still very much a Knight, and one that specializes in hypnosis, so...
- Awesome. A Dex Holder who would likely be welcome to his dream situation "sorted out" OR NOT.
- Constantly dreaming --> Frequently in a REM state --> Higher hypnotic susceptibility --> ??? --> PROFIT/attempt conversion to Knights of Arceus

If dreams about bring the very best, like no one ever was helped further research, then Ulysses would have more data than he'd ever need. And it's not so much that he's sleeping , it's that he thinks about what he wants most so much, that it overloads his brain. Everything else is pushed out and it can cause him to faint and such. I don't think he'd be inclined to find a solution because that would mean getting rid of all of his hopes and dreams.  

How I could see it playing out is sort of like Ash and Jesse and James. Black is highly perceptive once he's been blanked, so he could see through any plots. Thus, Ulysses could keep coming back or try different methods to restrain him and take his dreams or hypnotize him.

Yeah, I'm aware that Black is awake when his head gets full of dreams, haha~ Though it definitely does raise a few queries on why Black is such an interesting case study, like "lots of people have tons of dreams and aspirations, so why is this kid tripping out", "can Black act upon persistent thoughts", etc.

And in a way, yeah, I could definitely see their relationship being almost like Jesse & James with Ulysses constantly after Black in a love/hate sort of way. Of course Ulysses would get frustrated and annoyed with Black seeing through his plans and being a double-edged sword as a test subject, but of all the people who'd try ruining his plans, he'd prefer having the walking dream buffet "QA test" them, because at least he could try performing some experiments on him.

As for the dreaming solution, I mostly mean dealing with the overload, like perhaps through hypnotherapy, Black would "eventually" be able to have a more manageable number of dreams instead of too many crowding his thoughts. Though, if Ulysses offering his "services" doesn't entice Black, there's always either Ulysses witnessing Black in action, or Ulysses doing crazy shit for Black to stop (ex: his PKMN eating a town's dreams, kidnapping a psychic, trying out ways to put the general populace to sleep + hypnotizing them, etc.).

That sounds awesome. Ulysses could easily take advantage of the hero complex. These two are going to be fun when they interact.

Hey sweet. Yeah I just have to finish revising + turn in a story for one class, and take a final on Monday. That's it.

Anyway...I think these two have potential to be friendship? Admittedly it would probably be rather tense at first, mostly because of how their personalities would clash against one another before they learned how to deal with one another properly.

Also I think one of the first things Hyu would say to Black would literally be "Yeah good job taking down Team Plasma. Not like we had a massive mess to clean up on our own."

He definitely wouldn't be on the same page as Mei with seeing Black as somebody to 100% look up to like a senpai. No way there xD

Although they'd have a rough start I think they'd be able to eventually respect each other, maybe? And they're each in possession of a Legendary pokemon so that's a pretty cool commonality.

Awesome. Feels really good to be almost done, right?

But yeah, these two could be friends, but more likely rivals, in addition to Black having Cheren. Both Black and Hugh want to be the best in Unova, so it could easily be an ongoing competition for that. Their personalities would very easily clash as both can be hot-headed at times. They'd probably argue about who would be in charge if they had a large team working together. 

Black would probably respond to that in some form or fashion that stoked the flames, maybe, "Well, if you had trouble, you should have given me a call. There's bound to be someone with my number. Don't hesitate next time. I hate to see you guys in trouble." He'd be completely mocking about this and probably implying that he could have solved it easy with the whole "I've done it once, I can do it again" mentality.


I agree. They could, with some work, come to respect each other. Maybe, just maybe, be friends. The whole legendaries thing is something the two could find common ground over and maybe a small way of assuring that they were slightly better than their peers. They are in the possession of a few gods of the Pokémon world, after all. I also think another thing they could began to like each other over is girls. Hugh likes Mei, Black likes White. An easy conversation starter.

Anyhow, Black and White, White and Black, the plots we could come up with~ They totally need to thread. My finals are wrapping up so I should be a little more free pretty soon.~

Rivalry! That's the word I was looking for! For whatever reason it escaped me entirely.

Anyway. I think it would probably start out as a Rivalry, then eventually elevate to a Friendly Rivalry, more or less. I like the idea of an ongoing competition with each other - it adds fuel to the fire of situations where it would otherwise be unnecessary, and it would mean a couple of battles here and there, I assume ^^ Seeing who's in charge of a large group of people if they finally get their shit together with this whole war going on would definitely be critical...finding out who's on top and who's the runner-up. That would probably wind up being their most intense battle, pft.

Black antagonizing Hyu like that would only result in an irritated teenager xD Black would probably be able to see Hyu's hair bristle as it went on as well. The guy's like a Qwilfish lol. But then he'd retort with "I think you missed my point- obviously you didn't do it once before considering we were left to clean up what you failed to take care of entirely. If you're going to do a job do it right the first time." And just intentionally jab at Black that way as well, and whatever else Black gives him to work with.

At the very least Hyu could respect that obviously there's something to Black's claim about wanting to be the best in Unova as well if a legendary pokemon selected Black like Cobalion selected Hyu to partner with. He'd realize that no Legendary would select somebody that didn't know what they were doing, be it good or bad. Oh gosh a conversation about girls though!! That's something that can fluster Hyu in a heartbeat but he passes it off by hiding behind his funnel-collar and just denying everything. Like "Oh you like her? Well she is attractive. Go for her." then when the topic got turned to him he'd nope out in his own way without actually going anywhere xD

But yeah, a rivalry between the two would be great. They could argue over every little thing and probably piss off the others. Maybe White trying to pull Black away, Mei trying to pull Hyu. It could be really fun. For a large group, I see Black trying to take charge by saying he's more experienced and older. Just all depends. 

If it got to that, Black would probably make fun of the hair thing, but become super cereal concerning Team Plasma. He'd say, "Like I can help if they made a resurgence. They still love N and Ghetsis, so the only way to truly break them would be killing N and his father. Not even that bastard deserves it. And how is it my fault Colress decided to revive Team Plasma? I had no control over new leadership coming in." 

The Legendaries would be the first step in a friendly rivalry, though they could easily foster another competition between them, like, "My Legendary could kick your Legendary's ass!" or something like that. The girls conversation is another thing to joke around with Hyu, as well. Black could run through a list of names and the one he gets a reaction off of is the one he pushes Hyu about. Then he laughs at the red that would run over Hyu. Of course, Black would get flustered himself, especially when White is mentioned. So jokes all around.

Leave it to Mei and White to pull the two of them apart. I see Hyu's famous rage appearing at least once out of utter frustration with Black tbh. Luckily Black's not somebody Hyu would punch as an expression of his anger but if Black rubs him the wrong way on the wrong day...(clicks tongue) welp. Having red eyes just makes him look all the more 'evil' or whatever when he's actually pissed rather than just plain irritated xD

Oh lord Black don't make fun of his hair he hates it as is xD ...how tall is Black? because if he poked at Hyu's hair Hyu would get really close and just look down at him over the collar of his jacket because he's actually pretty tall and he figured out a while ago that he may be able to intimidate people xD And he'd get a direct counter from Hyu on that argument as well. I see them having an extensive verbal spat over it pft.

Snorts a Legendary debate. Hyu would talk Cobalion up, but not bother physically doing anything as far as that goes because 1. he knows that Legendary pokemon = capable of doing some serious damage, and 2. he's aware that Cobalion dislikes almost all humans, and that dislike has only grown worse because of the war. Hyu's really the only human Cobalion will acknowledge as something better unless another person goes out of their way to prove themself, or Hyu asks Cobalion to protect somebody haha. He spends some days just communicating with Cobalion because it's capable of using telepathy, so that they can learn a bit about each other to be a better team.

On that girls note...definitely xD I doubt Hyu would run through a list of names though, he'd have been aware of things to do with Black and just mention white straight off because he'd think 'well I doubt he had anything to do with Bianca...'

If it ever got to that stage, nothing any of them would say would help. Unless Black had recently blanked, then maybe he'd listen to White. Maybe. It'd help him if they did fight, too. Think it out better, stuff like that. It'd be fun to see just a straight fight between the two.

I honestly don't know how tall he is. Probably about as tall as Kyouhei, maybe taller. Taller than Mei and White maybe. I'm not sure there's no accurate size charts. So probably around that. Anyway, that's how their fights could escalate. First verbal, then Pokémon, then fists. 

"No balls!" would be Black's response. That would probably only serve to further anger Hyu, though. These two are gonna be fun. And into girls, Black will never, ever stop pushing Hyu to go for Mei. Even though Hyu won't look at Black as senpai which he should , Black would still act in a sort of big brotherly way when they become friendlier around each other. He wouldn't want to admit it, but the two of them are probably a lot alike.

Keep it friendly between two hotheaded teenagers... LOL nope. These two will butt heads more than a Rampardos.

I have a feeling that with this kind of relationship the only way to get anywhere 'positive' is to hit almost an entire range of negative things including fights. Then things just kind of become unclogged in their atmosphere as though actually fighting cleared some kind of major blockage without them realizing it like a bloodclot spontaneously breaking up xD.

There's actually no size charts for the trainers unfortunately, so everything is based off of headcanon. Hyu was just one of those guys I pictured to be a little oddly proportioned until they have that growth spurt and then they shoot up and even out xD So I've headcanoned him to be around 6'2" after everything was said and done. His lean frame + bushy hair makes him look a bit taller on top of it, pft.

Lord help Black if he says 'No balls' because Hyu would probably fly at him for that one. Just imagine him saying it across a table and Hyu glaring at him for about two seconds before vaulting over it and trying to pin him to the ground xD

Black do press him about Mei. He needs to grow the pair he would viciously be defending and do something about his affection. His little sister has already walked in on them cuddling. Good for Black to act as a big brother when things between them become less tense though, seriously. It would probably be good for him to have somebody to look up to in his own region because the closest he has at the moment is Cheren and Cheren's a little too conservative for his tastes xD.

No way Hyu would admit their similarities, either, he'd just turn into a tsundere or something.

Two negatives make a positive, right. In their case, though, it will probably take four to right negatives to get the right kind of positive. The other minor positives would be like putting aside their differences or finding some way to lead together, i.e. Black is the strategy guy, Hyu leads the charge. They could break the blockage when they start to fight at a very inappropriate moment, like if they're getting attacked or something and someone gets in put into harms way. They'd both feel guilty over it and it could be the barrier breaker they need.

Someone needs to get on that to make my life easier. First world Pokémon fan problems. Black's height. I remember a picture of him standing on Reshiram and being about as tall as its neck and head. Maybe 6'0"-6'1". Not too much shorter much still shorter. Stupid insult alert: "Well, I bet you're trying to compensate for something with your stupid height!" (I try to hard).

Fight, fight, fight! That would be awesome. 

Whoever said misery loves company? It's awkwardness that really takes the cake. They could work together in some form or fashion to help each other hook up with their respective females. Pfft, Cheren as a mentor. Decided to become the Normal Gym Leader while Black disappeared off into a cave à la Red style.

He'll learn to accept it.

God Hyu would feel horrible if somebody got in harm's way because they couldn't suck it up and get along when needed. That would be a definite break in the blockage because Hyu would then be like "Okay we seriously need to stop acting like the children we have been because I don't want something like that to happen again. Imagine if it had been White." And then he wouldn't want to say Mei because she's already been hurt by the Knights.

Seriously man. Headcanoning heights is a pain because you just wonder if others see them the same way. Hyu will use every inch or two he possibly can to his advantage to look down on Black whenever needed. Lord if you want to see Hyu turn the color of his eyes for a reason that ISN'T embarrassment, that insult would do it.

Leaping over a table is something I just picture as a stereotypical fight to happen xD

Oh god imagine this - after Black and Hyu get on better terms, the two wind up going on a double date with their ladies. That would be A+. Yeah Cheren's more the studious mentor while Hyu would benefit more from an in-the-field figure to look up to, pft. Hyu went and disappeared for a year or two himself. Went to Sinnoh after they made it to the end of Victory Road and didn't bother taking on the E4 because he wanted to train his mind, body, and pokemon before trying that. And then the war happened so he never got the chance.

That would hit Black right where it needs to. Because he's so hardheaded, though, he might ignore the warnings until White is actually hurt. That would really jolt him into reality. If she did get hurt, he'd hate himself for quite a while until she reassured him that she was okay or something. Developing off of his lesson could also help.

Black would probably try to pull an Emerald to make himself taller. That means it worked!

Then it's gotta happen.

Hell yes. Mutual wing men for life. Poor Kyouhei's getting left out. That's what Black is better at. That's why he achieved what he did and Cheren went on to be a gym leader. They could also comment on the others disappearance and what they did during their times of solitude. They could get all philosophical and confuse everyone

xD Gosh I love these ideas. But yeah, I think all in all, White would more or less be slightly stubborn about how she feels about Black cause...well, Black is himself xD So she'd probably be like "I don't really like him" eventhoughshetotallydoes.

Say maybe...since we don't currently have one...Cheren was a middleman between Black and Hyu because Black asked him if he knew anybody willing to fight for the Dex Holders and Cheren recommends Hyu?

and pfft just to be himself Cheren doesn't tell him anything about Hyu other than "alright you two are set up to meet _____ at ____." and basically does the same for Hyu?
