He was always so warm. It was just something about Garett she deeply enjoyed. No matter where they were, all she really had to do was snuggle up to him similar to how she was doing now. He always reciprocated....unless of course he was eating Spaghetti~ She smiled as he answered her. "I really like that spinny ride. It's like cups, but not Teacups. you get in em and spin the wheel. Me and my friends used to spin the wheel to see how fast we could get it to go!" She then looked back. "But the games look great too. I was never good at those though." She mentioned. Every time they had been taken to carnivals and amusment parks as kids, she'd always lose the ring tosses and things similar. "Could never really win any of the stuffies. Hugh would help me sometimes though. I think I still have one in my room Ya know!" She said, recalling a stuffed Cleffa that sat in her room on her bed, with Arceus only knew how many other stuffed toys.

“Isn't it awesome?” she'd said. Awesome. You know, Garett wasn't one to use the word sparingly; in fact, the teen was easily impressed and threw that word out like candy when it came to something he liked. But Nimbasa City – while he knew the region had worse, namely the ridiculously technological city that was still a ways off – something about the modern city didn't quite sit well in his stomach. Most towns and such before it had been more humble, more old fashioned. This? It was like something out of a sci-fi movie, in some aspects. And if there was one thing Garett didn't like, it was something modern. But it would have been so, so, so, so, so, so mean of him to rain on poor Kalu's parade – she looked like she was having the time of her life just looking at it – so he tried to hide his distaste with forced enthusiam. “S-sure is, Honey Bunches of Oats! Just look at all that... technology. And all those... sharp... angles.”
This was a nightmare.
“Oh, yeah, they all fought the gym leader. Doesn't she live, like, near some cool Ferris Wheel or something? Are you gonna kick her butt and ride it with me in celebration of your awesome victory?” Actually, from where he stood, he could see the top of the massive structure on the far reaches of the city. If there was one thing in this modern marvel he could stand, it would have to be that. Ferris Wheels were the bomb.

Of Course, Garret's dislike of modern day items had totally slipped her mind, but all in all that was fairly normal. Kalula forgot a lot of things often and then remembered them at Random points in time. For her to have found someone like Garret, had probably been a blessing, because at the moment, she didn't even notice his discomfort. Blinking, she listened to him as he mentioned all the angular structures. "....Gar-bear who's got time for math and angles and stuff right now?" She asked with a tilt of her head. The answer was nobody. Ain't nobody got time for that. But, she merely smiled at him. However, it faded when he mentioned the gym leader, Elsa Elesa. She wasn't ready to face her yet, there was no way. She wasn't half as strong as Hugh was at this point, she was just sure of it. But she shook it off giving him a giggle. "Well, I dunno about that, but how about we go look at all that stuff? And Maybe we can ride the Ferris wheel later anyway, kay?" She asked with a grin, taking his hand in hers.

“... I dunno, math geeks, maybe? They're really pointy, is all I'm saying! Way different where I come from.” Way worse from where he came from was a more accurate description, but who was paying attention? Him. And... him. Okay, good thing we got that head count over with. The blond was incredibly grateful that she didn't notice his unease – she didn't notice it often, really, which was another blessing. Really, he'd feel like a sorry bag of doo-doo for ruining his girlfriends fun because he was stupid and thought old fashioned things were cooler than, like, anything else. His smile grew a little less fake as she beamed at him, though. He probably wouldn't have been able to stand a trip here alone, but with her? He'd manage.
She suddenly frowned at the mention of Elsa Elesa, which easily caught his attention. Crud, had he struck a nerve? She laughed a little, tried to change the subject, but he was smarter than that to be fool. Thankfully, however, Garett was also smart enough to not press the matter. He wasn't sure if she had a problem with facing the gym leader, or possibly something directly related to that, but all of that could wait. It wasn't like they were in some rush to get through the region, or she to earn all the gym badges. “Sounds got to me!” Doing an over exaggerated bow, he said, “Lead the way, my good lady.”

Lead him she would. Kalula decided she was too excited to walk normally, and instead, took off in a fast paced kind of power walk towards the fair area. It wasn't too far from the gates so it made it fairly easy to find. She kept an even grip on his hand so they wouldn't get separated and headed past the entrance. It was hard not to come upon the Gym first, it was huge. She looked a bit nervously at Garret, offering him a small smile. "Kyou and Mei-Mei have told me that this place is a Gym, and it...I think it used to have Roller coasters but now...its some kind of Runway....?I don't exactly remember. I mean I'm not really ready to look inside yet, but, it kinda pulled me into looking at it. Makes me feel kinda queasy, thinking that you used to have to ride Roller coasters just to face a gym leader." She mentioned, holding his hand slightly tighter as she thought about it a second longer. Oh, swweeeeet Reshiram there was no way.

“Okay- woah!” Garett should have known Kalula well enough by now to figure that she wouldn't have taken off at a normal pace. However, despite that, he still found himself surprised by the sudden mega-power walk she started off on, conveniently dragging him along at her pace. For a moment, it was a little hard to keep up, having nearly messed up his footing at the sudden speed, but he found himself matching her footstep for footstep in no time at all, focusing more on his boots than the new fashioned city that was sprawling around him. The walk wasn't too far, and he only dared to look up when they both slowed to a halt. Green eyes followed brown as they both started at the marvel which was the gym, and once again, the unease he'd felt from her before started showing up again.
She explained how there'd used to be a roller coaster leading to the gym leader, but it had been replaced with a runway in recent years. She went on further to say that the thought of roller coasters to get to the gym leader made her queasy on its own. Frowning as her hand tightened around his, he asked, “You sure it's the roller coaster idea that's making you queasy?” Personally, he'd take the roller coaster over the runway, himself, but comforting his girlfriend came before stupid things like that. “Are you worried about battling Elesa, or something? You've still got time – she's not going anywhere – and I'm sure when you do, you'll be great. And, hey. If not? You just fight her again and again 'til ya' kick her butt so hard into the ground, people all around the city'll be talking about you for years.”

"I'm sure it's the coasters! They're big and scary and..." she paused. But if she was scared of things like that, she woulda been scared of the Ferris Wheel too, right? And she had sort of told him she wanted to ride it with him already. Finally she looked up at him. He was actually right on the spot with what he was saying. "Yeah...I'm afraid Elsa Elesa is going to be so much stronger than me and Kleo and Abosu..." She admitted nervously.
But, as he did normally, his next few words lifted her spirits as he mentioned keeping on trying until she did beat Elesa. Without thinking about what she was doing, she quickly leaned up and gave Garett a kiss on the cheek. Wait. Waaaaait. The blush on her face was probably the next most obvious thing as her embarassment shown in the next few moments as she backed away slightly. "Ahahahaha whoa well yeah I'll definetly beat her, thank you soooo much Gar, are you hungry cause I'm kinda hungry and maybe we should find some food neh?" She hurried ahead of him, face BEET red. Those Sleepovers with Mei are affecting my brain T~T....

The green-clad trainer raised a disbelieving eyebrow at her attempts to cover it up as a fear of roller coasters. Something must have clicked in her own mind that she wasn't really fooling anyone, seeing as Kalu trailed off in her musings. Catching his eye, she admitted that he'd hit the bull's eye. Thankfully, no more comforting words were needed then the ones he'd provided last post already. He could visibly see her brighten, and that alone was enough to leave him beaming and high spirited. Or, at least, he was until his girlfriend was suddenly up on her tip toes and something warm was being pressed against his cheek. A kiss. She... she kissed him. She kissed him.
While Kalula blushed up a storm, backing away, rambling something about getting food, and speed walking off, he stood there for a moment, dazed, and continued to let that sink it. Oh my Arceus, he thought, dumb founded. ... She actually likes me. For real! Yeah-hoo! As fireworks and cheers exploded within the confines of his mind, Garett ran to catch up with the brunette, hesitant fingers trying to lace with her own as he struggled to keep pace. “Y-yeah! Food is cool! I like food. Yeah, let's get food.”

Why was she so weird? Mei was really starting to grind stuff within her brain. But it was alright to do that, wasn't it? Garret was her boyfriend, Mei explained to her last time how important of a thing that was and what it meant. But sometimes, the true meaning of it left her head swirling. But she really did like him that much, enough to want to call him her boyfriend, and to be able to be his girlfriend as well. When she felt him attempting to hold her hand, she gripped his lightly, still looking the other way to avoid him seeing how red her face was.
"What do you wanna eat Gar-Bear?" She questioned. Knowing him, he'd probably want his favorite food of all time. But did they even sell that around here. Nevertheless, she waited for his answer, but she was pretty sure she knew what it was gonna be. Heck, it couldn't be much else with him most of the time....unless he threw her for a loop and went with Pie.
Post by GARETT HEINRICH on Apr 10, 2014 14:22:14 GMT 9.5
It was obvious that she was avoiding eye contact with him, though the cause was a mystery to him, and at first, he wondered if he'd done something wrong. When he attempted to hold her hand, though, she reciprocated, so whatever it was, it couldn't have been too bad. For a while, they went on like this, walking a little faster than normal, holding hands, and looking in opposite directions. They didn't even make eye contact when she asked him what he would care to eat. The answer was obvious – tasty, heavenly spagetti – but at that point in time, trying to get her to look at him was even more important that Arceus' greatest gift to mankind.
Scrunching up his face in focus, he tried to think of foods that she liked that he, as well, would enjoy. Sadly, still rather unfocused, all he could really come up with was ice cream. Well, at least an ice cream stand was more likely than a stand serving up fresh pasta. “I think I filled my spaghetti quote for the week. Any good ice cream shops around here?” That was a lie. The spaghetti quota was never full. Never. But the chilly treats were quite delicious themselves and, hey, he hadn't had a cone in an eternity and a day. Why not?

Yup, he seemed to want to throw her for a loop, because his answer was Ice Cream. Ice Cream? She had never, a day she had known Garett to say anything but Spaghetti. But the very act made her look at him, and she felt...happy! She grinned. "Sure, I'd like some Ice Cream!" She mentioned happily, seeming to suddenly forget how absolutely and totally mortified she had been a few seconds ago. She pulled him along. "Let's see...Ice cream oh, there's one over there! I wonder if they have mint chocolate chip...?" Now that, was her absolute favorite flavor.
And indeed they did. She ordered a whole two scoops of it. And it was probably the most glorious thing ever. Nimbasa was great, she didn't want to leave Nimbasa, not if they had this glorious ice cream. Of course, that would be her stance on things until she remembered Garett didn't like modern things. She looked up at Garett rather curiously. "Gar-bear....I thought that you could never have too much Spaghetti...? So as nice as ice cream is, maybe we could find a small bistro or something? I'm sure they have Spaghetti." She said, smiling brightly at him.

Success! Embarrassment forgotten, the prospect of ice cream was enough to get the smaller of the duo to look up at the taller, agreeing to grab some ice cream with him and even leading him off toward the store she'd spotted not too far ahead. When she mentioned mint chocolate chip, and even later when they arrived and discovered they had it, the blond wasn't too surprised. It was a pretty common flavor, after all. It was too bad no store ever had the ice cream flavor he really wanted: bacon. Oh, sweet bacon-flavored ice cream. He would find it someday. And he would devour it that day. But he settled with rocky road, sticking with only one scoop for his cone and not even bothering to ration it out.
When Kalula asked about finding a place to grab spaghetti, he assured, “Nah, don't worry about it. If I want some later, I've got a bag right here.” And, sure enough, seemingly pulling it out of the air, Garett produced a large Ziploc bag three-fourths filled with nothing but noddles drenched in marinara sauce. Shoving it back in his tiny pack – honestly, even he wasn't sure how he shoved all his stuff in there – he turned back to her. “So. We've got ice cream now. Where do we head next? Want to find a place to sit down and finish them, or just do that while we head somewhere else?”

She honestly wasn't surprised. But....she was still getting used to the fact that he carried the bag full of spaghetti around in the first place. But it was Garett. She giggled. "Well if you say so. At least we know you're never missing your pasta~" She looked down at her cone, partially debating. Well, they could keep walking, or sit for a while. But...then again... she nodded. "Kay Gar-bear, let's sit down for a lil' bit!" She brought him over to the bench and continued to lick her ice cream, looking around and trying to see what there was to do in this huge park.
She was still a little embarrassed yes, but she never really passed up a chance for a cuddle. Ever. Mei had spoiled her. She snuggled up to Garett while on the bench, sighing contently as she went back to her ice cream for a moment. She loved whenever she could do that. Smiling, she glanced back at Garett.. "Gar-bear, what kind of rides do you like anyway?" She asked.

When Garett was a young lad, and times were tough, and things were bad; when he had to walk home uphill both ways in a ninety degree weather blizzard; he would be caught without a single noodle of pasta to his name. Those were the dark days. Thinking about them made him shudder. As such, he never failed to leave without a hefty bag of spaghetti, and always prepared a spare when the first started to look low so he could hop right over to another, fresh bag. Most people thought him crazy, and had he had any other girl, she'd probably criticize him to no end. But this was one of this things that made the girl he did have so great: she didn't mind all the stupid, crazy stuff that he did. Heck, often times she went along with it. It was good, too; if she'd made him chose between she and spaghetti, it would kill him inside when he had to let his beloved pasta go.
Letting her lead him over to the nearest bench, the two sat down and continued to eat ice cream in near silence. By then, he was already chomping down on the waffle cone, the frosted treat already devoured. This was when Kalula paused, snuggled up against him, and continued eating. As was customary, he wormed his arm out from where it was trapped between the two of them and draped it across her shoulders. When she asked him what rides he liked, though, he frowned a bit. Really, the trainer had never actually... been on any rides. Amusement parks never sprang up around his home, and he only ever saw few on his travels. On the rare occasion he had the time to actually go into one, he mostly ate food and played the silly games that earned him many a prize. The Ferris Wheel only looked like it was the bomb. Heck, every ride looked like the bomb, but he couldn't really say which was his favorite if he'd never been on any of them.
“Uh... Every ride is made equal? I guess I don't really... have a favorite?”

Kalula felt his arm wrap around her and gently snuggled against his warmth. She was always pleased by snuggles, that was for sure. She looked down at her Ice Cream as she listened to him, resting her head on his shoulder. He thought they were all equal? She glanced up at him curiously. He didn't seem to confident in that answer. She licked her ice cream again, going silent to think about it. She had to wonder if he was having fun. Well...then again, she supposed that they hadn't yet done too much. "...Maybe we should try the boat. It's kinda like a pendulum, it's kinda scary." She mentioned with a giggle. "But I'd ride it if you were there too." She mentioned, with another lick of her Ice Cream. But she also kind of liked simply sitting there with him. But she guessed it wasn't too much fun. By now, she had realized she couldn't finish the whole Ice Cream herself. She looked up at Garett. "Gar? Do you want some of my Ice Cream? I can't really finish it." She asked.
