We were the fire on the moonlit skies
"You're doing good today, Jess." White mentioned as she led the Sawsbuck on across the path. Jessica, who had broken one of her front legs on White's last shoot, was following behind, the pain evident in her facial features. White said she was doing well, but she wasn't too sure herself. The nurse had told her it was about time for White to stop letting Jessica nurse the leg, but it was pretty hard for White to watch the Pokemon struggle like this.
"Amanda, come on out!" She called releasing the large serpentine Pokemon from her Pokeball. Amanda looked from White, to Jessica, a look of Sympathy crossing her face when she saw Jessica's condition. She still didn't agree with White's job, and this was probably one of the reasons why. But, at the same time, she knew White hadn't meant for Jessica's leg to break.Maybe it was those horrible terms like 'Break a leg' that humans always used.
"Amanda, can you stay beside Jessica just in case something happens?" She asked. The last thing she wanted was for Jessica to fall over. Amanda slithered over to Jessica's side, following the deer as White again coaxed her into a walk. White was nervous. She had never once had to tend to an injury like a broken foot, so this was new to her.
"Just a little more Jessica, little more..." she said, trying to keep her own cool as the deer kept up her pained expression. Amanda could tell that Jessica was really suffering, and it proved right as Jessica's leg gave in and she was only saved from a tumble to the ground by Amanda curling around her. "Jess!" White cried, running forward until she could lean down by the fallen deer. She ran a hand through the Sawsbuck's fur as Amanda gently uncurled herself from the Sawsbuck, to sit at White's side.
"I'm so sorry Jess, I should have never let them use you for that last shoot." She apologized, placing her bag down and digging through it for an icepack. She should have never listened to that stupid nurse.
